I've been reading menus and guidebooks like crazy, my 180 days is in less than 2 days now! :scared1:

This is my plan so far, what do you think?

Day 1
Coral Reef
Garden Grill

Day 2
CRT
Be Our Guest

Day 3
50's Prime Time
Sci-Fi Dine In

Day 4
Akershus
T-Rex

Day 5
Liberty Tree Tavern
Crystal Palace

Day 6
Tusker House
Restaurantosaurus

Day 7
Ohana

I understand that a couple of those are counter service and I can't make ADR's for them, but I left them in there in case someone had an opinion about them. I think 2 meals a day is enough for us, and we tend to do sit-down meals rather than fast food, especially on vacation.

How does all that sound? :scratchin

I have not been to all of them you have listed but I will give you my opion on the ones I have been to

Coral Reef - A must do for us every trip! The food is good and the atmosphere is amazing!

Garden Grill - Good food and good character interaction

CRT - Went for dinner a few years ago and really enjoyed it, good food and nice atmosphere

Sci-Fi - We really enjoyed our dinner there, love the atmosphere

Akershus - had lunch there a few years ago and enjoyed it, it was very busy!!

T-Rex - Another must do, food is very good and the atmosphere is awesome!

Crystal Palace - We had dinner here and did not like the food, not much on buffets. Character interaction was good

Ohana - We are probably one of the very few who did not care for Ohana. The food was ok, our server was terrible and I think thats the main reason we didn't enjoy it

Hopefully this will give you a little idea on some of our experiences. A few of out Favorites you don't have listed are:

Teppan Edo
Cape May Clambake
Via Napoli
Yak & Yeti

Several of those are on my current list.

I've read a lot of people's reports that Ohana has gone down hill.

I recommend Kona which is an absolute favorite for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Everything there is YUM!

I've been hearing lovely things about Boma as well.

And I second the rec for Teppan Edo. I don't make a trip to WDW without eating there.

GOOD LUCK!

Day 1
Coral Reef
Garden Grill

We've eaten at Coral Reef in the past & enjoyed it - the atmosphere w/ the aquarium is really cool. However, the last time, we weren't very impressed w/ the food or the service, & we took it off our "must do" list. That's not to say we won't go back - just, for the past 2 years, I really couldn't find a place to fit it in our schedule. Plus, it's gotten a little loud, & I don't like how kids crowd around the aquarium windows.

We really enjoy Garden Grill! It's my older DS's favorite character meal. The character interaction is always really good, & the food is usually good - very fresh. The kids' desserts are cute too. Service has been hit or miss w/ us. Last year, it was wonderful, so, this year, we'll probably have an "off" year. LOL! Our kids really like how the restaurant revolves as well.

Day 2
CRT
Be Our Guest

We love CRT - it's one of our "must do" character meals. We've done breakfast, lunch, & dinner, &, now, dinner has become our traditional "first MK evening" meal. I'm looking forward to trying the new menu this year.

We're trying BoG for the 1st time on our upcoming trip as well - I'm excited! Just wish I could get a better ADR time.

When you make your ADRs, I'd do Be Our Guest first (since it's for your 2nd night), then do CRT & then do 'Ohana 3rd - these 3 are probably the hardest ADRs to get.

Day 3
50's Prime Time
Sci-Fi Dine In

We've never eaten at Prime-Time. The restaurant looks cute, but the menu doesn't look great to me - however, it gets really good reviews.

Sci-Fi is another one of our "must do" restaurants. Our kids love the atmosphere - sitting in "cars" & watching sci-fi clips. The food is only okay to DH & me (the kids think it's fine, of course), but the experience is fun!

Day 4
Akershus
T-Rex

We ate at Akershus years ago (in 2005), & it was fine. I think the interior of the restaurant - very country castle - is just lovely. And I remember the character interaction being really good. We try a new World Showcase restaurant each time, so we haven't made it back - plus, DD is past the princess stage!

T-Rex is awesome! Very cool restaurant - the kids LOVED it! The food is kinda like an Applebee's or a TGIFriday's to me - it's good but typical, if that makes sense.

Day 5
Liberty Tree Tavern
Crystal Palace

We love lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern - the Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake is one of my favorite desserts at WDW!

We've done breakfast & lunch at Crystal Palace & have enjoyed both meals - typically, we do lunch here. I usually don't like buffets, but this buffet has some really good items that you wouldn't normally find on buffet. The interior of the restaurant is lovely, but the character interaction can be a bit rushed. You can also end up waiting quite a while for each of the characters to make their rounds.

Day 6
Tusker House
Restaurantosaurus

We have not eaten at Tusker House. We did the character breakfast in AK (in 2006 or 2008) when it was at Restaurantasauras, & it was fun. Tusker House gets great reviews, & I keep wanting to try it.

We normally eat at Flame Tree BBQ for our quick-service at AK - love the setting by the water!

Day 7
Ohana

I am "take it or leave it" w/ 'Ohana; however, everyone else in my family loves it. The service is iffy w/ me, & I hate the long wait to be seated. The salad & dessert are wonderful, but the other items are only okay to me - the meats seem kinda dry. That said, it's a fun family restaurant. And, if you can be seated near a window where you can see the castle, that's nice. It used to be our traditional "last night" dinner, but I moved it to our arrival night for our upcoming trip & we're trying Be our Guest for our last night.

I understand that a couple of those are counter service and I can't make ADR's for them, but I left them in there in case someone had an opinion about them. I think 2 meals a day is enough for us, and we tend to do sit-down meals rather than fast food, especially on vacation.

How does all that sound? :scratchin

My comments are in red! Hope this helps!

Also, is this your 1st time to WDW? I ask because, w/ 2 sit-down meals (lunch & dinner), you're going to spend a lot of your time eating & you won't have as much time for the parks. But maybe if you make sure your ADR times are spread out a bit, it won't be too bad! :)

Ohana was the one that I was the most uncertain about. I've also read the 'eh' reviews about it and it's the morning of our departure. I'm thinking that if I can't get a really early ADR, then I'm just going to skip it entirely.

Oh, I didn't realize you were planning breakfast at 'Ohana. My review was for dinner, which, I think, most of the reviews you've read have probably been for dinner.

The breakfast generally gets pretty good reviews, & the characters are fun. I think ending your trip w/ a character breakfast is great!

If you decide not to have breakfast at 'Ohana, consider breakfast at Chef Mickey's! It's one of our "must-do" character meals! It's the only character meal where you'll see all of the Fab 5 characters - Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, & Donald. Plus, the restaurant's setting - in the Contemporary - is just very quintessential "Disney" to me w/ the monorail running through. And I adore the Mickey waffles! But you get Mickey waffles at 'Ohana too!

I think either breakfast at Chef Mickey's or at 'Ohana would be a fabulous way to end your trip!
