Hey all-

I've got 2 days left till we leave (woo hoo!), and still I've got questions!

What do you all reccommend for autograph pens? Will the charicters sign with non-disney pens?

I was thinking of those new clicking markers (can't remember the brand name right now....) but I'm not sure if we have to get a disney pen or not....

Also, my fiance wants to scrapbook this vacation (it's her first time to disney, as well as her first 'big' vacation) and I heard there is a scrap booking store at DD.... is this place worth the stop?

Lastly, We are really trying to keep costs down for our purchases, is their any good adult type souveniers we should look into?

Thanks again for everything!

No, you don't need a "Disney" pen for the autographs. A simple "Sharpie" marker actually works best because it's easier for the characters to hold. Sharpie does make a "clicking" marker.

There is a scrapbooking store at Disney, at DTD, though you can find all of the same items (assuming they aren't sold out, sometimes it's best to try both stores) at World of Disney at DTD. There are tons of Disney scrapbooking items -albums, layout sheets, scissors, cut-outs, stickers, etc. You could spend a fortune! One thing I like about WoD at DTD -if you have a AAA card or a Disney Visa and spend $50 or more, you can save 10%. Or, if you have an annual pass, you can save 10% no matter how much you spend, but ONLY at WoD.

There are tons of things you can buy that are terribly expensive. If you're looking for things that say 2008 on them, you can go as cheap as a pin or bumper sticker, or a little Mickey figurine -all of those items are $10 or under. Souveniers in general can vary but there's usually something for everyone -plush animals, mugs, photo frames, pens, mini snowglobes, Mickey and Minnie ears, etc. All of those aren't too terribly expensive. I'd try to fit them in your suitcases rather than paying shipping for them home if you can (although you won't pay sales tax on the items if you ship outside Florida, Disney shipping prices can get expensive).

Have a great time!

My wife scrapbooks (I like to help her pick out embelishments, etc tho) and the scrapbooking store was great. I recommend going toward the end of your trip since you will know the pics you have taken and can more effectively purchace the right embelishments. Also, keep everything. We scrapbooked everything from an unused fastpass, to room keys, to the dolphin my son got hanging out of one of his drinks. I also recommend ordering the personalized maps from the website after you go with each attraction you did marked on it. It makes for a good background, and is nice to have your name on somethign Disney printed, it has many uses.

OK! Now that my testosterone is almost gone I am gonna go watch Sportscenter and scratch myself for a bit.

:rotfl2: Your wife would be proud of what you just said :rotfl2:

Oh my gosh--you're going to have so much fun!!! :cool1: The characters will sign with whatever pen you have. Larger ones are easier for them to hold though. I highly recommend keeping receipts, brochures, handouts, hotel folder... all of that ephemera to use in your scrapbooks! :cool1: I didn't really find any scrapbooking supplies I HAD to have in Disneyworld, however if you have a Hobby Lobby near you---they have some great sales and lots of Disney stickers! :thumbsup2 Another place to check out is the Walmart and Target that are close to disney world.

I wouldn't bother with the scrapbooking store in DTD. You can find things much cheaper at home. Walmart is good for this or she could try and find out if there is a Creative Memories consultant close to your home. We also have AC Moore, JO Ann Fabrics, and Michaels which also all carry Disney scrapbooking items. I would hate to hear that she over paid for items in DTD just to have them ruined in the suitcase during the trip home.
