Still trying to pin my husband down for a trip and I'm on limited time this year. Looks like a late July trip for us and we're looking at going to California for a week. We'll be visiting family in Sonoma for a couple of days and then heading down to LA and San Diego for the rest of the week. Since I've never been to DL before I definitely want to stop there and two days will be all that my hubby will go for.

To be honest, I'd rather go to DL at another time of year but I can't pass of the opportunity since I'll be right there. What is DL like in late July? Is it a mad house or doable?

It's July, it will be hot and crowded. When isn't it doable? Plan for heat and crowds and then do it.

It is manageable with a good touring plan. We get there early, hit it hard for the morning, then take a midday break. Towards the evening we focus on shows and use fastpasses. You won't see everything in two days, but as long as you keep that in mind, you'll not be disappointed.

I go in July every year and love it. Get FPs for GGR and Splash and enjoy getting a good soaking right after lunch then go back to the hotel to swim and rest. Once the sun sets, you are back in the parks which stay open late due to summer hours.
