Short 2 day trip to the world. (All pictures are clickable for a larger viewing)
Went Wednesday 7/22/09 and Thursday 7/23/09 to celebrate my friends 23rd birthday. We stayed at Bonnet Creek Resort (though not a true WDW resort I was rather pleasantly surprised at how great it was). It was Nicoles birthday and our friend Jessica and I joined her to celebrate. Nicole works for WDW so she gets the whole cast member discount. I myself am an AP holder. We were in a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom suite. Must say I really enjoyed it.

I drove from where I live (about 2.5 hours away from WDW) to where Jessica lives (which is 1 hr away from WDW) then we drove to the Bonnet Creek Resort. Jessica and I decided to try and check in since we had a few decorations we wanted to set up before Nicole got there. We had an amazing view of the little lake from our 2nd floor. We were staying in a lovely 2 bedroom/2 bathroom place with a full kitchen, living room and washer/dryer. The master bedroom had a king bed and the master bathroom had a huge Jacuzzi tub, two sinks and a walk in shower. The second bedroom had two double beds and a wheelchair accessible shower with toilet and sink (as we were in a handicapped room I think by mistake) The living room had a nice sized TV with DVD and VCR as well as a mini stereo. The balcony had a small table and a few chair's and the kitchen came in handy (as Jessicas parents sent us with some items so we could make our own pizza, and coffee and sandwichs to help us save money as we are all poor college students).

After Nicole opened her gifts we drove to Wilderness Lodge where we were meeting her Mom and a friend Erin for dinner at Whispering Canyon Café. As always the food was delicious, but Nicole and I were upset to learn that the chicken wings had been removed from the menu!!!! Jessica kept asking for refills so soon our server brought her a large lemonade (which is what she was drinking) and her eyes went wide with excitement. And yes, she drank it all and even had a second one and then a tiny one. As you can see we all had the Canyon Skillets. And in honor of Nicoles birthday a princess cake (which you can buy for $15.00 when you check into any wdw restaurant).
One of the server's kept coming to out table with cornbread saying "Here chic chic chic" so a little girl came buy and tried it too. Jessica ended up giving her a hat

And our server with the other server who kept going "here chic chic chic"

In the end we gave them our hats too
After dinner we went up to one of the loft areas and chatted till about 8pm when Jessica, Nicole and I went back to the resort and decided to go to the pool which features a lazy river. But as Jessica said while we were walking back to the room That wasnt a river that was a stream which is true. Its very small but fun none the less. The pool was nice as was the hot tub. After showers we went to sleep as we needed to be up and out by 8 am the next morning.

Woke up and were all out by 8am. With coaxing for Jessica because she is not a morning person. We drove to the Transportation and Ticket Center where we parked the car and I was able to go to the ticket window to exchange my AP voucher for a ticket, this is also where I was able to get Nicole a birthday button. We hoped onto the resort monorail to the Polynesian and then from there hoped on a bus to Hollywood Studios. Yes we were there for rope drop! We handed Nicole all our tickets so she could run as fast as she could to Toy Story Midway Mania while Jessica and I waited for her at Tower of Terror (which Jessica had never ridden till now). The wait for ToT was maybe 13 minutes. Rode it from row. We wanted to ride Rockin Rollar coaster but the line was 120 minutes for standby and Fast Pass was already at 1:20 and we needed to leave the park by 12:45 for lunch so that was out. We still needed to wait a little for out TSMM FP so we went on The Great Movie Ride. (Now I should tell you Nicole and I are always at Disney so we always ride the rides, but Jessica hasnt been to Disney since the early 90s so a lot has changed since shes been) Knowing Jessica loves Mob movies I requested the Mobster over the Cowboy and again rode front row. Nicole and I got a kick out of Jessica who knew more about the movie scenes then our cast member! After that we went to TSMM and then Star Wars. After debating what to do for our last ride we decided upon Backlot Tour.
HollyWood Studios!

ToT-Jessica is terrified!

We hoped on a bus back to the Polynesian where we enjoyed a nice lunch at Kona Café. Now Im a little upset because this used to be one of my favorite resultants. Its normally not crowded and the food is delicious. On this particular trip I learned that my favorite meal the peanut chicken plate lunch had been taken off the menu, though they still offer a plate lunch it is not the same. Though the meal was still delicious and the company was the best. Jessica had a Hawaiian chicken sandwich, Nicole has a burger and I tried the club. Our server brought out a chocolate filed cream puff for Nicole with a candle and we all sang Happy Birthday.

And the creampuff

After lunch we hoped on the monorail to Epcot. After seeing how packed the park was we deiced to just walk the world showcase do the rides in Norway and Mexico and then head back to the resort. I am also a Disney Visa Card member and before we entered the world showcase we went to Innovations to receive our free 5x7 picture which today has Goofy, Minnie and Mickey! It was perfect. 3 of us and 3 characters! We started off in Canada and made our way around again only riding the two rides in Mexico and Norway. The skies started to get black so we hoped back on the monorail to the TTC and drove back to the resort where we each took a turn in that wonderful Jacuzzi tub before making pizza for dinner then heading off to the midnight showing of The Ugly Truth at Downtown Disney.
