2 day park hopper plan

Hi everyone. I’m busy planning a trip to Disney world in feb. We’re staying one night at Caribbean beach on 18th Feb. Currently planning on a relaxing first day at the hotel / boardwalk areas, nice dinner etc.

Then for the 19th I’m planning on rope drop at HS, hopefully getting a boarding group for start wars and thinking of using my fast passes here for mid morning if I can get slink dog etc.

As it’s evening EMH at magic kingdom, I was then hoping to park hop after lunch, and spend the afternoon/ evening at magic kingdom.

We would then return on another day that week (staying with family for the rest of the week in Kissimmee) to do animal kingdom and possibly some of Epcot (during the arts festival).

We’re two young adults from the UK, no kids who have been to the parks before (never park hopped) so we’re more interested in hitting the main rides / coasters and having some nice meals rather than shows, character meets etc.

Just a couple of questions if anyone could share their advice....

- Does this sound like a reasonable plan?
- How likely would we be able to pick up extra fast passes at MK in the afternoon?
- would it be better to use fast passes for MK in the afternoon? I guess there’s then a risk that our boarding time for Star Wars would overlap.
- Would it be achievable to transfer to MK through Epcot to sample some food at the festival and then monorail onto MK, or would this be too much?
- thinking of booking at TS meal at jungle skipper canteen. Is this a good choice in MK?
- any advice for getting the most out of an evening emh, never had this perk before

Would really appreciate any advice :-)

Does this sound like a reasonable plan? Very ambitious if riding all main rides will make/break it for you.

Very likely, MK has afternoon FP available on the busiest days of the year, but all mountains will be slim to none.

You might get an afternoon boarding group

That adds lots of time. 30min to get to Epcot, plus the walk through Epcot, then (2) monorails to get to MK. It’s basically 4 transportation legs (if using Skyliner) vs 1 bus to MK.

Plan to use the whole time. The 1st hour will seem like normal crowds (non EMH guests can get into any line 1 minute before EMH) until some get tired and leave.

As short as you have on your Disney Trip, I honestly wouldn't recommend any Table Service meal during park time. I like Skipper, I really do. But TS just takes up too much time that you could be using to enjoy the parks. If you do want a Table Service, try to do it outside of park time. Since you are staying at CBR, Sebastian's has been getting a good response so it's one to consider. I will always be an advocate for going out of your way for any of the restaurants at AKL.

If you're only interested in WS/FotA at EPCOT, you might be able to squeeze some of it on your RotR day depending on how long you have to wait after your group is called. If your VQ is called early enough and you get out of RotR by say 2:00, you could probably head to EPCOT for FotA for a couple of hours. Then hop over to MK for the rest of the night using those EMH. It's a lot to squeeze in for one day but doable IMO. And if you did want to do attractions at EPCOT, you probably could get some of the main ones in on the second day.

Very true on TS dining. You either need perfect ride timing, or you waste 45+ minutes before the ADR not risking missing the ADR when stuck in line, plus the potential large amount of time eating and waiting for a check.

We would then return on another day that week (staying with family for the rest of the week in Kissimmee) to do animal kingdom and possibly some of Epcot (during the arts festival).

Assuming you have a 2 day Park Hopper ticket that starts on 2/19. Keep in mind the second day has to be used on or before 2/22 or it will expire.

This is a very ambitious plan, for sure. After you get your Boarding Group for ROTR, you'll be better able to tell when, or if, you want to hop to MK. I think using your Fps at MK is risky for the reason you cited: The times may overlap with your BG, but you do have 2 hours to board once notified. If it was me... I'd hop to EPCOT rather than MK because of proximity. You CAN walk between the two parks or take the new Skyliner or Boat...whichever is your pleasure. That would leave more time for enjoying Festival of the Arts. When you return for the 2nd day...(please note very valuable advice by PP regarding expiration of tickets) I'd choose between MK and AK and just enjoy one of them. That's just me, but I could never enjoy either of them with just 1/2 day. Depending on hours, maybe it's possible for you to do both. No matter what, I hope you have a great trip.

You will be able to pick up good FP at MK in the evening with some refreshing. Keep in mind there is no FP during EMH.

Thanks everyone that’s replied, that’s really useful 😄

I’ve secured fp for toy story mania, star tours and muppets between 10 and 1 so hopefully we’ll do slinky dog, smugglers shortly after rope drop and try and get luck with additional fp’s.

We’ll keep the plans relatively relaxed, and either head to Epcot or magic kingdom when we’ve done what we’re happy with at HS.

I’ve also made reservations for the wave on the evening of the first day, and will hopefully include this as a bit of a monorail bar crawl!

Really looking forward to our trip now!

You’ll want to arrive at HS early. I was there a few weeks ago, with park opening at 7, arrived 6:40. Slinky dog already had a 20 minute wait when I checked the app at 6:30 from bus. Still we were able to ride SD and the other TS attractions first thing, and got a boarding group for ROTR. MF had a long line all day though, so we skipped that one. Not a huge loss though after riding Star Tours & ROTR... how many space journeys do you need in one day 😂

Maybe try changing that Muppets fp to a RNR fp. You don’t really need a fp for Muppets, and you say you like coasters...

We enjoy Skipper Canteen. I personally enjoy having an ADR and If we have time to kill between a ride and ADR, I find that a great opportunity to poke around and enjoy details, especially in Adventureland (my fave land).

Glocon- the poster would need to give up Toy Story Mania to get RNR. Giving up Muppets won't give you a second Tier 1 ride.
