I can't seem to find an answer to this question, and I'd really appreciate if anyone could help me. I have 2 contracts, one at AKL and one at BLT. I have some banked points at BLT, and I want to use my AKL points to book a vacation at 11 months in an AKL Value room. I need to use these banked BLT points, so can I transfer them to my AKL trip at 7 months? If I call MS will they do the transfer, or will there be a problem? Thank you!

if there is availability for a value room at 7 months out, yes. it would work like a cancel and rebook.

but you can't simply replace the AKV pts with BLT pts at 7 months to get around the 11 month home resort window, no.

Technically the answer is no. However, if any of the days are available at 7 months in your unit type, you can book those days with the 7 month points and "cancel" the same days from your 11 month reservation thus accomplishing the same thing.

First of all, do you really have two contracts or one master contract and one add-on.

If the numbers of the contract are the same except for the suffix numbers (XXXXX.000, XXXXX.001, etc), they are one contract. They will have the same use year.

If the first numbers of the contracts are different (XXXXX.000 and YYYYY.000) then you have two contracts.

Even if you have two contracts and transfer the BLT points to your AKV contract, they remain BLT points and can only be used a 7 months out at AKV.

If there is no wait list at 7 months out for the lodging that you booked with the AKV points, you would be able to cancel the reservation and rebook with your BLT points. BUT be careful. You can easily lose that reservation during the time you cancel and rebook. It has happened.

My assumption based on how it was posted is that it's 2 contracts under one master. In this case it really doesn't matter much though unless one is looking at using combined points at the 7 month window for a single night. Assuming for a second that it was two master contracts, you'd do exactly as I posted. You could also transfer points from one contract to the other which would allow the option of combining different home resort points at the 7 month window for a single night and be somewhat more seamless in this situation. However, one can link nights from different master contracts making them one continuous stay regardless.

THank you.. I'm sorry that I didn't clarify before. I have a contract at AKL and have added on at BLT, so they are under the same contract (same use year). I understand that if I cancel my AKL reservation that I made at 11 mos, and then use my BLT banked points at 7 mos, I may lose the reservation. Is this likely to happen? Has anyone done this?
