Is it possible to have 2 charge accounts set up for one room? We will be staying in a dedicated 2 bedroom at the end of March, and will have friends staying with us. I would like for them to have charging privileges, but don’t really want it on my credit card. Does anyone know if you can do this?

Thanks,
Rob

We are having friends stay with us, too and I would like to give them the opportunity to charge to the room. Good question!!!!

Each room card/key has a number on it starting with one. So each guest will have their own number. When the guest charges back to the room, the transaction shows up with that person's number listed. In the past when we have had guests with charging privileges with us, they planned ahead & just pay us - either cash or check.

One time - years ago - I stayed at a moderate hotel with a friend. I left a few days before she did. Together we figured out how much I owed her. On my last night I went to the front desk & paid for my charges with my credit card. Then she paid the balance with her credit card. I don't have any idea if this is still an option or not.

hi: as posted, each room key will have a number assigned to it. it is very easy to break down the charges that way. we did a mini (extended) family trip in 2000, so i had 14 people charging to my credit card. (that AMEX card was smokin')we've been letting anyone who was with us have charging privileges since 93 and it has NEVER been abused or disputed.

As you may have guessed from the answers given so far, you can't have two cards assigned to the same room. But you can split up the charges at the end of the stay and charge to two separate cards at that time. Be sure to tell them at the desk that you plan to do this. Usually by the time that I am checking out they have already charged my card. Then you would have to go through getting a credit on one card and charging to another.

I love the Disboards!! This is always great information! We may be traveling with another family next year and I was wondering how this would work. Now I know!! Annmarie

We now make a point of "settling up" with the front desk the evening before we check out. It avoids the problem eva mentions and saves us time on check out day (we usually have an early flight out). So far, there hasn't been much of a line at the front desk, either! :teeth:

Each person gets a key card with a number on it. The number is the same on every card, except for the last 2 digits. They are 01, 02, 03, 04, 05 and so on, depending on how many keys you request for that room.

When you get the bill, each charge has the number of the card that charged it next to the entry, so you'll know what was charged on card XXXXXXX01,XXXXXXX02 etc. I have had the CMs break out the charges and then charge them to each individual's credit card, and I have had CMs who would not do that. I think that may be the luck of the draw.

In any event, since you will know which card charged which expense, you can have it all put on your credit card and then get the cash from the individuals to put toward your credit card payment.

That's how we do it when we go with a group, and it has always worked fine.
