We are planning to travel with another family and stay in a 2 bedroom lock off villa at AKL. We would like the DDP but aren't liking that the points would all be pooled. Can we have separate dining plans (one for studio and one for the one-bedroom part)?

Only if you have them reserved as 2 separate reservations and are only hoping to be next to each other. If it is a studio and 1 bedroom reservation you could do that otherwise they will all be pooled for all of you.

A single reservation number means it is all one room so everyone would need to have the DDP.

Book a 1 bedroom and a studio instead of a 2 bedroom and yes you can.

You can still use the lounge of the 1 bedroom but have separate rooms.

Booking this as a one bedroom and a studio solves the shared DDP problem but will require more points for equivalent lodging (and perhaps be less convenient since the rooms likely would not be connected). The additional points may negate your DDP savings.

Perhaps you might forego the dining plan and determine that there are other good ways to save money on dining like through an annual pass or a tables in wonderland card? The latter may work well if you plan to eat together a lot at table service restaurants since I believe you only need one membership for up to ten diners.

Plus you can't guarantee they'll be together so you can access the LR from the studio but with requests that part would likely work out. I wouldn't do it, you can go to the Front Desk and get an accounting of which room occupant used the credits so you can check on it during the week. If I didn't trust the other party enough to follow the rules that you agreed upon, I would get different rooms and just get the DP separately or I would forego the DP altogether. If you get separate rooms (even if connected) you could get the DP for one group and not the other which can offer a lot of advantages.

Thank you! We will have to keep thinking about whether we want to use the TIW card or just get the DDP
