We've got one day at Disneyland, on Sunday 1/19. Upside: A day at Disneyland. Downside: Opening weekend ROTR.
We'll have park hopper and Max pass, will arrive as close to rope drop as possible and stay as late as we can. Any suggestions how organize all this and for using Maxpass are appreciated. Lunch will be whenever and wherever. I do have a dinner reservation for Lamplight at 6:30, but I can be flexible on that until that day.
Our priorities (in no particular order are:

California Adventure
Radiator Springs (at night)
Time in wander in Batuu
Smuggler's Run (not willing to wait more than 1 hour in queue)
ROTR
Soarin
Incredicoaster
Guardians of the Galaxy
World of Color (Have dessert party tickets)

Disneyland
Space Mountain
Splash Mouontain
Big Thunder Mountain RR
Mr Toad
Pirates
Mr. Lincoln
Indiana Jones

Thanks for the feedback!

Not just rope drop on Sunday, but likely significantly before rope drop. Boarding passes will open at 8am that day and you need to be scanned into the park at/before 8am. Hopefully they will allow guests on to Main Street to wait for the opening. This would get you scanned in and ready for the 8am bell and relieve the pressure in the plaza a bit. If you wait, getting in the park could take 30-45 minutes if crowds swell, so I'd bet at least an 1.5-2 hours prior or longer would help assure not being shut out for ROTR.

Can we get this merged into the RoTR boarding group thread?
I didn't merge it into that superthread because it isn't specifically about getting a ROTR Boarding Group, but more generally about a game plan for park hopping on Jan. 19th. If the OP wants to ask more questions about Boarding Groups, he can post them in the ROTR Superthread.

OP, good luck --expect better results in CA and getting FP and standby times there. You won't get SR under 1 hour opening weekend. GE (yes, in DL, not CA) is simply going to be packed.

Suggest:
Arrive early Sat AM to allow time for getting into DL (i assume you have no MM since not mentioned). Early like arrive security 6A probably to reasonably get in by 8A is my 'guess'--who knows but you'll have Friday at least to report on the crowds.

Rope drop to Indy after grabbing your BG and grab FP for both THunder and Space as you can -- they should pop up relatively fast and easy early. Space is going to be longer since MM has the jump on you to Tomorrowland. Put pirates and toad sometime between the FPs and Splash around your ROTR time. Hit lincoln on the way out to CA or return if you have a late return time on ROTR.

CA the main thing is hunt FP for soarin as that pops up often as does guardians and incredicoster. The main unknown will be RS; but since you want at night, they do pop up but you have evening plans too there so that's going to be a pinch

You shouldn’t be arriving as close to rope drop as possible, you should be at security AT LEAST an hour before opening. ROTR boarding groups have been filling up minutes after park opening at WDW. There is no standby line for that ride.
You may also need to take advantage of the single rider line at SR.
All the best.
