Hi! My name is Erin, and this is my first ever PTR. So, I apologize in advance if it's lacking. This trip was planned to celebrate my 18th birthday!
Walt Disney World has always had a special place in my family's heart, we usually end up going at least once a year, even though we say we're going to go somewhere else.
Anyway, we figured that the best place to celebrate my 18th birthday (which will be on 12/12/12) would be WDW!

Who's going?

me-1.jpg

Me. I'm 17 and will turn 18 during the trip. Disney World has always been my favorite place to vacation, even though I've been many other places.

My dad. He's the main planner of our vacation, and even though he won't admit it, Disney World is his favorite vacation spot too.

My mom and my grandma. My grandma loves Disney World as much as my dad and I do. She'll ride all of the the thrill rides with me (except RnRC) and her and I are sharing a room for this trip. My mom is probably the least excited for this trip. She refuses to get on thrill rides (except BTMRR and occasionally Splash Mt.). However, she puts up with everyone else's obsession and comes along, and secretly enjoys every minute of it.

Our close friends. Over time, they have become our Disney "trip buddies." This will be their 4th time to the world, and 3rd time going with us. I will call them T and M since I don't want to share their names online. During this trip, it will be T's birthday too. She has the same birthday as me, and we're excited to spend our 12/12/12 birthday in Disney!

Coming up next: The When and the Where.

Now it's time for the when and the where!
Where:
We'll be staying at the Art of Animation. We usually stay at the Poly, but we wanted to shake things up a bit. Plus, AoA is new and we want to check out the new hotel.

We're staying in the Little Mermaid section, and I'm really excited, the rooms look awesome! I'm also really excited to explore all of the other sections of the resort, the whole place just looks so amazing and well themed. Also, I'm really excited for the big Finding Nemo pool.

(these aren't my pictures)

When:
We'll be arriving at WDW the morning of December 10th, and leaving December 16th.

Next: Our dining reservations.

I'm joining in! We're staying at the AoA in October and I can't wait. We don't usually stay value but the resort looked so cool and we wanted to be there the first year it opened. I can't wait to read all about your trip.

P.S. how cool is it that your birthday is 12/12/12? :thumbsup2

I'm here, mammal. You're too precious! :teeth:

Aww thanks, Chachacha. :goodvibes

That was our exact thought process too! And I know, right? I imagine it's even cooler for people turning 12 on that day though.

Since I don't want to take up 2 posts, I'm going to do my update now!

Now before I tell you our ADRs, I just need to tell you all how fun it was to pick these restaurants. Let's just say that getting 6 people (where half of them are picky eaters) to all agree on a place to eat is not an easy task. It took us a good 2 hours looking at menus and talking stuff over to pick these 6 places.

Monday, December 10th: Chef Mickey's
Tuesday, December 11th: Liberty Tree Tavern (And MVMCP!)
Wednesday, December 12th: Tony's Town Square Restaurant
Thursday, December 13th: Whispering Canyon Cafe
Friday, December 14th: 1900 Park Fare
Saturday, December 15th: Cape May Cafe

One of these nights, we want to do the CP and eat at Via Napoli, so we'll have to get rid of one of our ADRs. It'll most likely be 1900 Park Fare or the Cape May Cafe since 3 buffets all in one trip is kind of over-kill. ;)

Next up: Our first Disney mail!

I'm here!
Can't wait to hear about your plans!
:teeth:

Thank you, Valerie! :)

Sorry that I haven't updated in a really long time, I've been really busy with rehearsals for a play I'm in.

Anyway, a few weeks ago, we received our first mail from Disney! Getting this in the mail made everyone excited for our trip, even my mom! I thought it was really cute how they personalized the packet and included Toy Story characters.

Up next: I'm really not sure what to talk about next, does anyone have any ideas/things they want to hear about?

I'm tuning in, it's looking good! I really hope for our next trip, we stay in AoA too! It looks awesome! :thumbsup2

Quick Update:
We changed around some of our ADRs. We got rid of Cape May for the 15th and are now having lunch at Le Cellier for the CP package. :teeth:

So, I know I haven't updated in a very, very long time, but I've been very busy lately. I'm in my senior year of high school, so the past few months have consisted of me visiting and applying to colleges. I've also just finished up my drama club's fall show, that kept me busy for a very long time.

Anyway, I'm now 13 days away from my trip, and I couldn't be more excited!
Since the last time I updated, we've made some changes to our dining reservations.

The reservation for our last day, the 15th, has changed numerous times, but we finally decided to go to the Luau at the Poly that night! We were originally going to eat at Le Cellier Steakhouse and go to the CP. However, once Olivia Newton John backed out of her dates, we decided to change our plans since we weren't at all familiar with her replacement.

Up Next: What to Pack?
