2 beds and a roll in shower?

In May I will be going down to the world with a young lady that I do respite/Pca work with... I will be moving out of state and have worked with her for over 6 years shes more like a sister to me then a client.. but anyways I will need 2 beds but a roll in shower or at least a shower with a bench... I will have her wheelchair as well (she uses it for stamina and as a way to kinda keep her contained she loves to look around and could wonder off if not careful not that she means to)
I also need to get a fridge to keep a med in...

I know that I can get a fridge in a fridge swap... and that the mods have fridges... I and her mom havent really sat down to talk the whole thing out I broke the news to them about my move today

I just want to have all teh facts before I sit down with her mom... I'm pretty much all set with all the other factors about taking her down with me... I did look to see if i could find the answers before I posted this but unless I looked in the wrong spot I could not find anything about

Are there going to be just the two of you? In that case, you're kinda in an odd situation. The rooms with a roll in shower have less room within the room itself as the bathroom uses up more room. Because of that, there is only room for one king bed within the rooms at the values and mods. So either you'ld have to book 2 rooms (talk to special needs dep about getting connecting room, so you can enter her room from yours) or would need to use something like a blow up mattrass or roll away in the one room.

Don't know about the values or the other mods but at CBR there would be room for that. Those rooms are the biggest of them all (as far as values and mods are considered). A single sized mattrass would fit between the kingbed and bathroomwall. Perhaps might need to move the bed a bit to make room, bit that room is there. That would still leave room for the wheelchair also. If need be, you can even ask them to remove the table and 2 chairs from the room, making more space to move around.

Another option is to look at how important the roll in shower is. You say a bench would work, but would it work or would it be struggling? If it works; consider it. In that case you could book a handicapped accessible room that doesn't have a roll in shower. Those have grabbars etc. in the bathroom, but a regular tub/shower combo. You can ask them to put a showerbench in there at no charge. Downside is the lesser accessibility of the bathroom. Upside; more room left for the rest of the room. These rooms do have 2 seperate beds.

We statyed at POR and the rooms with roll in showers do have king beds. My son requires a hospital bed. CM's took one of the night stands out, moved the king bed closer to the wall, which left plenty of room for the hospital bed and to get through the adjoining room door. (We had the adjoining room, because there were 5 of us) It may take some furniture moving, but there is plenty of room for a roll-away. Because of the wheelchair and other med supplies, we also had them remove a chair and the table. The resort was wonderful, in fact 2 other cms showed up within the hour to check to make sure everything was working well and the front desk called to see if we were satisfied. We spent 9 comforatable days there.

I don't know financially if you could swing it but I know the CR has 2 queens bed rooms with roll in showers - as does the Poly and the GF.

Hi, I had the same question. We are staying at the WL for the 1st time! We requested a roll in shower DD. She is in a wheelchair full time. We will be a family of 4. We need 2 beds for sure!

If there are 4 of you - you'll probably get 2 rooms (second one comped). When booking, make sure you mention the roll in shower and the CM will contact special services for you to block that room. Since that room will have a roll in shower and a king size bed (WL configuration) - they will probably book you a connecting room (with regular bathroom and 2 queen beds).

Tell Disney what you need and they'll figure it out.

I've had great success with booking rooms for my family (I bring my mom who is in a wheelchair).

We are a family of four with one Wheelchair and need a roll-in shower, the resorts we have stayed in that have a King Size bed in them we have always got the connecting room this includes the WL.

THANKS!!!!! I am happy we do not need to be in one bed! My DD loves Disney every bit as much as the rest of the family! One of the reasons we return to Disney is because she can take part in so much of it! I love the fact she can remain in her chair and go on a ride! Its the best feeling in the world to see her enjoying herself every bit as much as the rest of us! Disney really goes the extra for her! I always worry DH will trip when lifting her. She is becoming an adult so the less lifting the better! The roll in showers are great! The bathroom met al of her needs as well!
