what would you all do

there will be 5 of us staying, me and DH, ds1 (who needs the master because its the accessable room) and ds2 with his gf

Treehouses :

Pros.

suits because of the bedrooms i.e. we could all have a room to ourselves because they have 3

cons.
they seem a bit far out as in not really attached to SSR and we like to walk to DTD infact we like to walk at night even to The Artists Palate for hot chocolate. Now we have walked to DTD also from Grandstand so unsure if the Treehouse area is also doable to the West side end.
Pools looks so uninteresting and a bit small, not that we need much at the pool but the other pools at SSR all have nice outlooks and our ds needs shade so unsure if with this being the only pool for all the treeshouses it will be busy and ds wont get say under an umberella to get the shade.

2 bedrooms at SSR
Pros.
like the fact that we can walk to the shops, artist pallete etc and the quiet pools are usually nice and quiet and relaxing

cons
we need to get up first to get out ds up in the morning (remember he will be in the master) so if ds2 and gf slept in the living room we would have to disturb them to get to ds1
if we gave them the second bedroom it means we have the bed settee which for 21 nights would bother dh's back.

thought about renting ds2 and his gf a studio but he wants to be with us and we haven't enough points for a GV.

anyone booked the 2 bedroom say when you were with others outside immediate family

We stayed in a 2BR with neighbor/friends of ours, but we gave them the 2nd BR & we took the master & used inflatable mattresses for our kids so that we kept the living room free. It worked out well, because our neighbor would be up early some days reading the paper & drinking his coffee in the living room.

If it were me, I would either go ahead & try for a treehouse even though it's a bit of a walk to most things, small pool, etc. or get a studio for your DS & GF. Just give DS a key so he has access to your main living area.

You didn't say why you needed the accessible room. If due to wheelchair, that ramp on the accessible treehouses looks very long. On the other hand, you have immediate parking. If you choose the treehouse, someone will be dealing with bunk beds (for me, I would prefer the bunks to a sofa sleeper.) If you like to walk, you may not mind the walk from Treehouses to the pools at the main part of the resort.

We are a family of 4 and chose the Treehouses because: 1) we like to try new things 2) quiet pool w/ option of more active ones at main resort 3) love the large deck and most improtantly 4) four places to sit in front of the main tv.

You could always split stay. If you are trying for the 11 month window, I'd book the treehouses as 2 brs are more likely to be available.

I haven't stayed there so I can't speak with authority but we do stay at OKW and we walk from there to DTD and pass the treehouses along the way. So I'm guessing the walk from the treehouses to DTD should be doable. But I don't know how spread out they are--there are ones right by the golf course and the canal and they should be fairly close. I wonder if you can state a preference for those closest to DTD?

thanks all,

our son is in a wheelchair and can't for example spend time going swimming hence we like to take a stroll over to DTD with him on a night as he enjoys that. maybe have a look when we are next out .

do you have to drive out of SSR to go into the Treehouse villas. as in out the main gate turn left towards OKW or can you access the THV via The Grandstand.
