I'm a WDW vet and haven't been to DLR in 10 years. WDW has finally broke this camel's back by instituting an additional $100pp party charge AFTER already paying for MNSSHP to meet the evil queen & maleficent and my crew is bailing for less pricier pastures on principle. How do you get rid of the staple M&G for this event for those already paying to see them?! I've looked at DLR's onsite prices and while comparable (even better than what I've had to pay this fall with AP rates at GF!), I've been looking at the Good Neighbor Hotels as that's where I've stayed in the past.

-Are there any good neighbors that have 2 bedroom suites?

-Any suggestions for a good neighbor hotel walking distance of 15min to main gate, breakfast included, and indoor/heated pool?

-When does spring break craziness begin for DLR?

-Any specific concerns I should be aware of for visiting in the Feb/Mar time?

-Are the CMs as plentiful or fun to pin trade with at DLR as they are at WDW?

TIA!

Desert Inn and Suites is right across the street and they have 2-bedroom suites. They also have a setup with three rooms. We have stayed in the both. It's a great location, an easy walk to the parks. When I have 5 or more in my group, we stay at the DI&S. Booking early is the key to a lower rate.

Ramada Maingate has 2 bedroom (1 sleeping room with 2 queen beds and a parlor room with a sofa sleeper with one bathroom) and 3 bedroom (2 sleeping rooms, 4 queen beds total and 2 full bathrooms and a parlor room). They have free parking, wi-fi and a minimal free breakfast. Less then 10 minutes to the main gate. And the building the suites are in is only a year old. The pool is heated and has some splash area things for kids. DS4 and DS6 loved it. But, FYI the older building in the hotel are under renovation as is the lobby. Supposed to be done in 2015 I believe.

Camelot has two room suites. I don't think they do breakfast anymore, but they are right next door to McDonalds. They also have an outdoor pool. The suites are pretty spacious.

We are staying at the Doubletree suites for the first time this October instead of our timeshare condo. Did a lot of research and it has great reviews. It is walking distance (also has ART service) but the pool is outdoors and breakfast is for a fee unless you get a room package that includes it.

I've only been once in February during the holiday week and it was a nice time to go. Not sure about later in the month and into March but I wouldn't think it would be too busy.

My DD started pin trading two years ago and DS started last year. We've always had great experiences with the CM and DD always seems to spot plenty of them around to pin trade with.
