Hi all,

I have been looking at Disney's package prices for next year and although still expensive the prices for a 2 bedroom unit are at least £2000 cheaper than what I was last quoted for the same dates. Those prices are for Saratoga Springs and OKW. Can someone please tell me why these resorts are cheaper than the other DVC's?

How DVC compares to WBC? I am really tempted to book something but I'm not sure as I've never stayed on site although I would very much like to at some point.

Which DVC resort is better and for what reason?

Thanks!:thumbsup2:goodvibes

they are larger. more supply means lower prices.

they are also less in demand because they are not within walking distance of a park (DTD doesn't count).

DVC is onsite at wdw - you get access to the DME bus service from the aiport, disney dining plan, KTTW cards that can act as tickets and used for charging to your room, and the disney buses. if you park at an onsite resort, you can park at the theme parks for free.

WBC is not technically onsite - so you can use their park shuttle or drive yourself to the parks and pay $14 per day for parking. you can't get the dining plan. you have to arrange transportation from the airport yourself.

i'm sure the villas at WBC are very nice, although in some cases with less theming than the DVC resorts (AKV is more african, BCV is more 19th century beach resort and so on).

they are all nice. all have a different feel and different theming. BLT allows you to walk to MK, AKV has giraffes outside your window, BCV is a short walk from epcot.

here is a link to more pics and info about the DVC resorts:

Another thing that might be worth mentioning is that OKW has larger rooms than the other DVC locations. As the oldest of the DVC properties it predates Disney's decision to shrink the DVC rooms.

I don't know how SS room sizes compare to the other DVC properties since parts of the resort are predate it's redevelopement into the DVC program.

As for why they are cheaper, As was mentioned, the 2 biggest contributing factors are size (more inventory available) and location. (Not "next" to a park like most of the other DVC properties.)
