a 2 br 2 bath condo on a very limited budget.

what is the minimum you think I could spend? need carpets, furniture, curtains, kitchen items too, toaster, utensils, blenders, etc.

thanks!

How much time can you invest in this project? You could do all of it for around $1500 (new carpet installed is expensive) if you can shop garage sales and thrift shops.

Are you willing to buy used/second hand and to purchase from thrift shops or do you want everything new?

The OP mentions needing kitchen appliances as well. Those will run you $1500 by themselves.

Do you need new carpet? As above, it's expensive. As are appliances - as are sofas, chairs, beds, etc. Yes, you can do some stuff from thrift shops, craigslist, but stuff does still add up, especially if we're talking all from scratch and you need sheets, pots, pans, etc.

no sorry, just fixed above. No appliances needed. Just dishes, glassware, silverware, etc.

do need throw rugs. Would buy 2nd hand, but probably not entirely. :)

Do you have an Old Time Pottery nearby? They have great prices and you would be able to find rugs, kitchen stuff, linens, towels, and more.

You can shop at Ikea and Target and get everything you need and new.

Living room $500-1000
Dining $100-250
Bedrooms $2000-3000 total with mattresses, dresser, beds etc
Rugs $100-500 each
Kitchen $450-600 with toaster, blender, microwave, cups, dishes, misc.
Window coverings $30-50 each?

So my estimate is 3k+ for buying new

Think creigslist! I got a ton of things there. I have used sheets for curtains (which looked really nice after I added a ribbon border). My best advice and favorite tool: Spray paint! I got a dresser off of creig's and spraypainted it black with blue drawers and it looks aswome! Also think outside the lines. Im working on a horse themed room and I got a saddle, horse shoes, and some various tack for $8 off a swap site, just needed a good cleaning.

Macys is having a pretty good sale going on right now.

Mattress sale and closeout : save 30-50% off

Rug closeout : save 40-70% off
