We are currently booked at ASMo 2 connecting rooms family of 6 (2 adults, 4 kids 5-12). We plan on not renting a car, doing ME and taking advantage of the EMH.

This question is for those who have stayed at both the Nick Hotel (or when it was HIFS even) and have ever had 2 connecting rooms at a Disney Value. Which did you prefer? Compare the room size for me. Which would you do again? I have stayed at HIFS when it was converting to Nick Hotel, so I am familiar with their layout and amenities (sp?). But I have never stayed on DIsney property before.

BTW...after staying off-site for previous trips, and coming back to the room to make meals I'm ready for a break. We won't be eating meals in the room...gonna only buy drinks and snacks for the room. So the fact that I could do meals in the room at Nick doesn't matter much. Any input would be appreciated. TIA!

Jennifer.

I've never stayed at either, but I've stayed offsite and onsite. I think you should keep your ressies. I think the Nick theme is really cute, and I'd liket ot check it out some time, but I think you'll also like onsite. Even if you aren't going to eat in your room, being able to go back to your room easily for a change of clothes, swim break, etc. is a nice feature. With a family of six, there could easily be times where part of the goup will want to break up, with onsite transportaion, you'll have this option. The EMH hours are a real bonus too. Before the EMH hours, it was harder to justify the price, but the extra park time is a real plus.

I would stick with the AllStar...especially if you are not planning on doind a lot of cooking. We stayed at HIFS several (like 7) years ago and I was underwhelmed even then....we drove past it in August and it was so garish it was frightening!!

At All Star you will have 2 bathrooms and more space if memory serves me...and the advantage of staying on site is so terriffic....just hopping a bus back to the room is hard to beat....and you can put the younger ones to bed in one room and still be awake and have conversation, etc in the other....I would have to be saving a TON of $$ to go Nick over All Star (and that would have to include paying for a rental car vs using DME for free!!)

As the mother of teen daughters we have discovered the joy of 2 value rooms....it works great for us!!

How long are you going to be in WDW? If this is not a short trip ( a couple of days) I would advise you to keep your reservations.

We did the Nick Hotel for two nights at the end of a trip this summer, and although it was very cute with great slides and pools, etc...I don't think I could have stayed longer than I did. One word - overstimulation!

Also, remember that in your current situation, you will have two bathrooms!

Good luck deciding! :flower:

OP here!

We are definitely going to stay onsite this trip that's for sure. We wanted to do that right from our first trip to WDW, but we were using a TA that told us it was out of our price range. :earseek: Unfortunately I believed her and wound up staying offsite for all our trips. This trip is so different for us...planning wise anyway. I CANNOT BELIEVE how much money we are saving by doing the planning ourselves! For the money I spent with the TA, we could have done a deluxe easily. I could kick myself.

Well, I was just wondering what to expect room-wise as far as the amount of space we will have compared to what we were used to KWIM?

oops, lol....editing to add that we are staying for 9 days with possibly adding on 1 or 2 more.

TIA!
Jennifer. :cool1:
