Can it be done? Do you look excessively cheap if you do it and will people give you a hard time about it.

We share at Disney all the time and have never been assessed a fee. But we were never on the dining plan. I started a thread a few days ago asking about sharing on the dining plan and got mixed answers. It seems its up to the restaurant. Some let you share and charge the number of credits based on the number of meals you ordered. Some restaurants charged the number of credits based on how many people were there regardless of the number of meals ordered. So I decided not to chance it and we aren't doing the dining plan.

I often share with one of my DDs (teen), the other DD (teen) may order an appetizer for her meal or share with her dad depending on the restaurant and how hungry she is. No one ever has said anything to us. We often have food left over from that even. So it becomes obvious why we wanted to share.

PS. This does not refer to buffet restaurants or fixed price places. We would never try to share at those places, so save your arguments about that!

We share all the time - even on the dining plan EXCEPT of course at a buffet. Not only can you do it --- they are happy to accomodate your request and do not even bat an eye.

We do this sometimes too. We especially like splitting things like racks of ribs. We also will split a burger at Sci-Fi or Beaches N Cream in order to save room for dessert. :) We have never had a problem!

If you're on the DDP, Beaches N Cream probably won't let you share... from what I've heard, that's the one restaurant of sticklers who do not allow any sharing on the DDP. If you pay OOP, then it probably is fine to share there.

Of course you can! Don't fret too much about looking excessively cheap because what's important to focus on is to having a well-rounded sense of enjoyment in your Disney World experience. Have fun!

It's not a problem anywhere. The servers do not know if everyone at the table is on the DDP anyway; they are not going to ID you.

We share quite often because the servings at WDW are huge.

Excellent question!

I will have a lapband the next time we do WDW and of course cannot eat much at a sitting. If DH wants to do a sit down, maybe I can just ask for a plate and have a few munches off of his plate :)
