We are booking our first cruise ever for November 2017. I can't decide between forward or aft for our room selection. Forward seems to have more of the "adult" areas, while aft is closer to restaurants and the drink station. Do you lovely people have any advice for room location for a newbie? We aren't prone to motion sickness, and I can be a light sleeper.

Typically mid-ship is considered the "best" area to be in. Forward can get a lot of up and down motion when the seas are rougher. Aft also has more motion than mid ship, but less than forward.

I prefer deck 2. The reality, is nothing is really that far away. Even if your room is aft, the adult areas take, maybe, 2-3 minutes to get to, tops.

Most people suggest not being above or under a lounge, dining room, or pool deck for noise issues.

But, in the long run, just about any room on the ship is good as long as I am on the ship.

We've been on the Magic both forward and aft. I know it's not the Wonder, but probably very similar. On our last cruise we were in a verandah room, deck 6 about as aft as you can get! I loved it! It was very quiet as we were sandwiched between other staterooms (I would avoid any stateroom that has a public area either above or below it). Plus it was a very quick walk up to Cabanas and the pool area. The ships are small enough that it is not a long walk anywhere, so getting to the adult only areas was easy as well. I just loved how quiet our room was as there really wasn't any foot traffic!

We were deck 7 aft as two adults. It was an idea location. Completely sandwiched between other staterooms, and away from the main staircases. So quiet. And it really doesn't take long to get virtually anywhere. We DID feel the engines when we were turning to back into a dock, and I did wake up to that, so if you're a light sleeper I can see that being a concern, but check your docking times. I'm an early riser, so I only woke up to it the morning we returned to FL. The rest of the mornings I was already awake when we docked.

If the choice is between forward or aft I would choose forward, simply for the extra little bit of exercise after all that Wonderful food - lol

I was on the Wonder in June 2016. We were on Deck 2 near the aft set of stairs.

It was a great spot for us (two adults). It barely took any time to get to the forward of the ship for the shows, etc.

We love deck 6 midship.
We try to get a room close to elevators.
Very rarely do you hear noise, of course there's always one or 2 kids that will come flying down the hall screaming and running, thats to be expected but like I say rare.

We did a VGT one year and we were given a room on deck 5, I was happy because we had the grandkids, it was so convenient to the clubs. I did worry about noise because of the clubs. It was as quiet as could be, not once did I hear a thing outside in the hall the entire cruise.
