DH and I have a trip planned for the last week of August :sunny: without the kids. Today we were talking, and he said he'd really prefer to go at Christmastime and see all the decorations, lights, etc. I'd rather go in August, because it's sooner, but maybe Nov would be better? Our reasoning for August was that he was going back to school starting in Sept, but now he's going to wait until January.

Which would you prefer? If it's November, it would be the week after Thanksgiving.

Thanks, Steph

We have gone the week after Thanksgiving for the last 2 years and the weather is absolutely gorgeous, as are the decorations. I've never been in August, but I think the heat would be tough. The crowds in November are not bad, although I thought they were worse in 2004 than in 2003 (probably lots of rescheduled folks from the hurricanes). If you go in November, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is a blast!

i would personally choose november. we've gone to wdw in both months & august was extremely hot, crowded & riany. november is one of our favorite times to visit, because of regular/value rates at the resorts, christmas decor is set up the 2nd week normally, the food & wine festival often extends into the beginning of november as well as nice weather & there seems to be less kids than during the summer months due to school.

hope you have a romantic wdw trip without the kids either way!

Thanks! I thought we could do MVMCP and the Osborne Lights, maybe even the Candlelight Processional if we go in November too. Hmmm.....maybe I should change my mind and go with Nov! We were there last year at the end of Sept/beginning of October, and we made it through Hurricane Jeanne, but this year we'll be driving instead of flying, so that's not as easy to schedule around.

Based on my personal preference, I'd go in November, post-Thanksgiving. WDW during the holidays are so romantic PLUS, the crowds will be thinner than August.

Another vote for the post Thanksgiving period. It's my favourite time of year and the time I would always choose if I could. The crowds are low, the decorations are up, in fact we'll probably be there at the same time :cool1:

we went the week after thanksgiving for two weeks one year. it was great seeing the decorations.. and the weather is good touring weather. When we were there though.. it was very cold.. freezing actually. We couldnt swim at all in the two weeks.. and it was cold in the mornings and evenings. Afternoons were lovely and warm. There was even FROST in the mornings..
we didnt have the right sort of clothes at all!!
