2 ADRs for same night?

I have ADR for HOllywood and Vine w/ the fantasmic package. Well, if it is rainy that evening and the show will be cancelled, I'd rather eat somewhere else. Do you think I can have 2 ADRs for the evening and then cancel one in the afternoon? Will making another ADR cancel out the other? Thanks.

I have sort of a similar question - we'll be there at a very busy time, and with the evening EMH, I'd like to have a light sit down meal at around 4 (like apps and a drink), then have maybe another light meal with dessert around 10 or 11 - has anyone done this?

To tell you the truth....you CAN do that BUT it is NOT a good idea because if you do it....then she does it...then the next person does it...EVERYONE is doing the same thing....there's not gonna be anything avalible for the people who actually what the other place you double booked.
It's just not the right thing to do...also if the cm books 2 places for you at the same time then the cm can get in trouble.

also to add to that..if you want to do BLD in the same day thats fine..or to do the 4pm and 10pm should be ok, but at the SAME time...is a nono.

I just wanted to mention that they usually do not cancel Fantasmic until the very last minute. Also, they take your credit card number for the Fantasmic dinner package, and you need to cancel it 48 hours prior to the ADR, or they will charge you $10 per person for not showing up. At least that was the case when we were there in December.

You could cancel one in the afternoon but if you are cancelling the H&V Fantasmic ADR, you will be charged a fee b/c it will be within 48 hours of the reservation. I believe the CM told me it would be a $10 fee per person.

Oh yes, I forgot that I placed a deposit on the fantasmic package. Too much to think about, I guess!

On past trips, when traveling with other families and/or grandparents, I have made two ADRs for the same night at the same time, so that grandparents could take kids one place while adults could go out somewhere else on their own. Thus, it is certainly possible to have two ADRs on the same night at the same time.

That being said, I always did this intending that both be used (and they were) and I second the other poster who cautions against this in the spirit of avoiding the creation of a wave of double and triple bookings which then do not get used. (I know the OP said she was going to cancel the one she wasn't going to use, but I think it would still be better to avoid this entirely.)

Couldn't you still eat at H&V even if Fantasmic was cancelled?

ETA - Just reread your post and saw that you'd rather eat elsewhere if you could...so I guess my first comment is not really helpful. Ignore!
