2/9/2013 - Fantasy Mardi Gras Cruise *****

Wooooohoooo! One week!!! Glanced in on the Fantasy on the port web cam. Next week people will be looking at us!!!!

Can't wait to explore this new ship! I'm sure I'll miss the Magic a little, but can't imagine we won't be wowed by the Fantasy!

Can someone please remind me (along with everyone else) where and when the cruise meet up will be on the first day?

Jen

We also watched the Fantasy leave tonight!! Could even pick out our room-to-be! Just can't wait.

We spent the day trying to make all our clothes fit and making hard decisions about what to take...

I finally finished up the last of my FE gifts today, packaged everything and packed it in the suitcase. It takes up almost the entire suitcase - and it's our largest bag! Yikes! Good thing we are flying Southwest so no bag fees. And we will have lots of room for souvenirs on the way back. Now to start packing our own things!

I feel like I have "the bare minimum" packed, but it is still sooo much stuff.

There are 5 of us. When we go to Disney- we have it down to a science.
What is killing me is the clothes for dinner and pirate night. I will do laundry at least once.
How do you pros do it?? I NEED to save room for souvenirs.::yes::::yes::

We are also a family of 5. For the dinner clothes we use mix and match pieces and will re-wear when needed (I don't do laundry on vacation.) DH and DS will have 2 pair of dinner pants. One is black dress pants and the other is usually khaki's. Cruise casual nights will be polos and then one dress shirt worn on formal and semi formal nights. This time we are doing tuxes for the guys because we want some nicer photos. Otherwise it is the dress shirt and tie on formal and the dress shirt without the tie on semi-formal.

DD and I do something similar - a couple pair of nice pants or skirts with mix and match tops. Then a nicer dress for formal night. Sometimes you can take the same dress for semi formal and dress it up with some sparkly jewelry for formal night.

We usually don't have a problem re-wearing dinner clothes since they are only on for a few hours anyway. If one of us happens to get something on a piece of clothing we are planning on re-wearing, we just send it out to be cleaned on the ship. Their dry cleaning prices are quite reasonable.

Good to know and good for DH and DS. I guess I was thinking an outfit for 7 nights times 5. I have packed lightweight dresses for myself, but I do have a lot of shoes!
I will be packing DD7's today. That should be much easier.;)

I'm having problems with the shoes too! Trying to come up with one pair that can be worn for casual dinner and dressy dinner and it isn't going well.

On our first 7-night cruise we had one entire suitcase filled with nothing but shoes. We've since done a better job with that. I try (try being the key word there) to limit dinner shoes to 2 pair each for the girls. The guys wear the same dress shoes all week.

I am also having problem with shoes. Never packed so many in all my trips. 5 pairs! Lol not including the ones I will be wearing on the ship lol. I have boots for pirate night, 2 pairs of heels, sandals, flip flops (for when I get a pedicure)

Our challenge is getting our clothes to fit in the suit cases and not weigh a ton! :)

Finishing up most of the packing today, after laundry of course.

Four more work days and it's off to WDW for cruise eve!

I am psyched! All Packed except toiletries. Finished FE gifts, packaged and packed! Last thing to type up directions for family watching pets.
Yipeeee!!!

We're off to Orlando tomorrow, can you believe it!?

I KNOW! All these early packers make me feel like a total slacker! We're still working on our FE gifts as well. :thumbsup2
