Anyone else cruising on the 2-9-03 Wonder? We are first timers! DH, DD 4 1/2, and myself. :Pinkbounc

Maybe we'll have an empty ship?! I know the rates at the Disney resorts are great that week--prices really go up after Presidents' Day.

We will be there (my wife and I, in our 30s), our 2 1/2 year old son who's absolutely nuts about anything Disney, and our 7 month old daughter--also my mother and her husband.

Beforehand we're headed to the four big parks, staying at GF and AKL--leaving for cruise from Swan.

We live in the DC suburbs and are very, very excited about the trip. I've done a lot of research and wasted a whole lot of time--my wife lets me plan these things.

hope it's not to empty - more fun with lots of people. Never any real problems doing things because of the crowds.
We moved from the DC suburbs about 13 yrs ago, thank God!!

:bounce: :bounce: hi lynne family of four coming over from wales dh ds aged 12 dd aged 7 and myself hope your as excited as us roll on feb 9th:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Hi,

My Husband, Son(2yr) and I will be sailing on the 2/9/03 of the Wonder.

Can't wait only 17 days to go!

Woooo Hoooo!

This is our second sailing on the wonder, our first was a 3day in 9/12/02, we had so much fun, we booked for February about 30 days after our trip was over. We decided 3 days was not long enough. We had such a good time, we had to go on a 4 Day. Who know's maybe next time the 7-Day????

:bounce:

See ya around the ship!

Well we are diverse in geography, if somewhat lacking in numbers! I'm particularly impressed by the Wales family--I guess that's an endorsement.
To the two-year-old's parents: that's great! What sort of things did your son like to do the last go-around? The only shore excursion we signed up for was Atlantis.

Well there was so much!

My son is a very cool little 2 yr old. He is pretty good about doing anything. He loved the Disney Dreams and the Island Magic shows. He swam in the Ears of the Mickey Pool! I don't remember seeing any restrictions on using swim diapers or swim pants, when we were there in Sept. I read some comments on these boards that say otherwise.

He loved the character meet and greets! Not one bit affraid of the large characters.....well except Captin Hook...but heck, he is a little scary with that big evil grin. But as soon as he saw that it was OK with mom and dad he was OK.

He loved playing in the Sand at Castaway Cay. We really did not do any excursions last time.

The only thing he did not like was Flounders Reef Nursery, but he is a little spoiled, both Mom and Dad work from the house, so he is always with one of us. Although lately we have been using a Nursery on occasion to get him over his Parental Seperation Anxiety. He has been doing great! We may try
the Nursery on-Board again, but this time earlier in the day. We tried to use it at night, so we could hit some of the clubs. I think it was too quite and all the other kids were ready for sleeping. Not my son, he was ready to play!

We are a second shift household so he is used to being up pretty late. We did 2nd dining rotation and it was perfect for us. The couple that sat with us, could not believe how well behaved our 2yr old son(just turned 2 the week before the curise) was at dinner. Their 2yr old son was always in the Nursery at Dinner. We never saw him the whole time??? (That may have been a good thing)

Sorry for such a long post!

Thanks,

Lori

hi guys i forgot to mention this will be our second disney cruise we did the 3 night wonder back in feb 2000 we come from a small town called llanelli south wales which is only known for its excellant rugby team even though rugby is not that well known in america we have two americans playing for us and both do the team proud oh dear lets get back to the cruise were sure everyone will have a great time its a great experince for us adults and our children:D :D

Are you coming all this way for the cruise or do you have other Orlando festivities planned too?

My family of six, including my mother, will be there. It's the third time for us, first for my mom. As we're from Indiana, I'll point out that we sail the day of the NBA All Star Game, featuring Pacers coach Isiah Thomas as coach of the East team!:bounce: Any other NBA fans sailing?

hi spyhill were staying in orlando and we drive down to the port ourselves we also have a five day hopper for the disney parks this will be our 6th trip to florida as you can tell where total disney freaks. by the way what does d c suburbs mean

To Lori: Thanks much for all that info. Our kid also has a zeal for life, but he's not always an angel. Though he does love restaurants. Since we have a baby too I don't think we'll use the day care--that's why were bringing my mother. Hopefully the Atlantis trip will be fun and not too heavy on the transportation side.

To Shingle: That sounds great--we're Disney freaks too--dc suburbs means the suburbs of Washington, D.C.--it's freezing here and we are counting the days. We're also getting the hopper pass 2/4-2/9 and plan to hit Epcot, MK, MK, AK, and MGM in that order I think. We've been to all those parks as a couple so we will defer to our 2 year old's whims and hope he appreciates it someday! Or at least has a great time while we're there.

 We're also on the 2/9/03 Wonder. Myself, my DS (17), his best friend (16) and my DD (12). This will be mine and the kids' second Disney Cruise, but a first for my son friend. He's never even been on an airplane. My cousin , his DW and their 4 yo DD will also be sailing on the same cruise. We'll be in Orlando for 6 day beforehand. I can't wait. Only 9 more days for us. WooHoo!!!!

No problem see you on Board!

A fun thing to do at the MK. My son got his very first haircut there. There is a Barber Shop on Main St. Next to the stable, near Town Hall.

The kept him entertained. He was awarded Mickey Ears with First haricut Embroidered on them. Lot's of MM stickers, a certificate of bravery and lots and lots of Pixie Dust.

Now he thinks we are going to see Mickey, whenever he gets his haircut.

I'll send you a picture to your email, not sure how to insert it into this reply

VERY excited, but at the same time a bit apprehensive. Don't want the seasickies...

Definately DD 4 /12 is excited! And... she has no idea that we booked the Dolphin Encounter in Nausau!!!

hey everyone,

we will be with you guys on the feb 9th wonder. it's myself, DW,
DD 4 3/4 and DD 3 (leaving DS 1 1/2 at home with grandma).
it's our first time. we'll be in walt's room and might never leave except to drop the kids off at the club.........

YIIIPPPEEEE!!!!!!!

ooooh--I am so excited. We're doing most of the packing today!!
This is our second cruise. We went in Nov 99, but it was spur of the moment--a member of our family had just won a long hard election and we needed to get away. Samantha was 4 1/2 and had a ball, but DJ was only1 1/2, so he couldn't "do the club". We also didn't plan or investigate much, but that was oK Disney took care of everything.
Now we're psyched. Sam is 7 and DJ is 4 and they are sooooo looking forward to meeting new friends there. Both are excellent swimmers, so we're doing the Dolphin thing at Blue Lagoon and then just hanging out.
My husband is turning "50" on Feb 11. If you're around when they sing happy birthday, just please don't ask if we brought the "grandkids" We're Pittsburghers---so you all there!!! Kim
