2/8/03 Eastern Magic Anyone?

what the E-Bay attire will look like. Curiosity is killing us!! Gary, tell us that you found a really great deal on a leftover Halloween Costume and you will be dressing as GOOFY.:jester: Party attire is a neccessity...we'll get ya drinking one of those cruise drinks before you know it. Mudslides...here we come.
Ladies...
I narrowed the foot attire down to one pair sneakers, one pair of black dress shoes and one pair sandals, Oh and watershoes.I simplified things by deciding to wear black for the evenings-hence only one pair of dress shoes. I'll just jazz things up with accessories.Tropical night anything goes. I packed black, white and colors last cruise and it got so out of hand trying to coordinate footwear.(thank goodness we don't have to carry handbags!) Those shoes sure can weigh a ton. I'll have more room in the luggage for "SHOPPING".;)

I think we're going to need a separate carry on just for our shoes! They take up soo much space.

I can't wait to see what you bought Gary! I'm going to guess....a Pepsi t-shirt? LOL!

Anybody have any creative cruise related Christmas gift ideas? I'm looking for something for the in laws and something to surprise the hubby with. I was thinking of maybe putting together a basket for the in laws, but I'm drawing a blank with the hubby.

You can not be missed in that hat. This is getting more interesting everyday that passes. :Pinkbounc How lucky are you going to Disney for Christmas!!! I work in retail and just can't possibly get the holiday time off to get down there. It is on my wish list during the next couple years. (I'll just *have* to retire!;) )
Chrissy, My Dh absolutely wanted to have a pair of small binoculars to bring on board...great gift idea. He enjoyed watching the other ships that passed by and to get closer looks at islands and such. We didn't see a single whale or dolphin, but he had fun looking. Also, for the inlaws, I would go to a local bookstore and maybe pickup the "Passporter". If you're not familiar, it is a great WDW travel guide, organizer, journal and keepsake! The authors are Jennifer Watson and Dave Marx. It costs about $20.00 and is updated for each new year. Great info and great for logging memories and not too large for packing.
Oh gee...I'm late!
Happy day to you all. :)

Laura, the Passporter and binoculars are great ideas! Thanks! My MIL loves to scrapbook so that will be perfect for her to jot things down and save all her "free souvieners" for the scrapbook. The binoculars would be great for the hubby on the verandah. That's what he's looking forward to the most - getting up early and sitting out there.

Gary that hat is great! I envy you too being able to go to the World at Christmas. We're heading home for Christmas for the first time in 4 years. I'm going to freeze. I'm not used to Midwest winters anymore.

We're packing our sport binoculars for the same reasons! We use them frequently on our cruises. I noticed that there is a schedule of island passings posted in the Navigator each day to assist your island watching. If you can wait, you can get great prices for them at camera shops on St. Maarten and especially St. Thomas!!!
Built-in souvenir!!! I'm shopping for a new camcorder and 35MM
camera myself. Royal Carribean and Boolchand's are required shopping for that stuff in St. Thomas.

My counters are OK. Maybe it was a temporary glitch.
I hate when that happens!

My computer's date was set for sometime in December! No wonder everyone's counters said we only had 60 days left!

Don't we all wish that we had 60 days left!!!:) I didn't shop for electronics on the islands, however, a CM we met at the Promenade Lounge( the mudslide artiste') highly recommended doing so. He shopped in St. Maarten as did many others. It was a funny sight to see the off duty CM's re-boarding with VCR's ,DVD's and such in their arms. I did my shopping at St. Thomas...straight for the jewelry shops. Had to have an Australian Opal....it matched the beautiful colors of the Caribbean waters. This time around......it's the matching earrings or bracelet!! I hope the DH is prepared$$$$.;)

My DW is into the jewelry thing at St. Thomas!!!
We go to Diamonds International and visit our favorite sales person Camilia. On our last visit, she took us to all four of their stores until we found something we liked that I could afford.;) I'm sure we'll be visiting there this time!

It's inevitable.......women, shopping, jewelry. You men folks will just have to find *something* to do. Chars DH loves to fish, but will probably save the fishing for the excursion at CC. My DH just goes along for the ride and carries the WALLET.:p Has anyone decided on excursions? We are hoping to do the Sea & See Island Tour in St. Maarten and the St. Thomas Island Tour. We have taken the butterfly tour, which is great for the kiddies and although we have taken the ST. T I Tour, I don't want my friends to miss the sights from the Great House. Decisions, decisions.
Love those countdown timers!!!! Tick, tick, tick.

Actually, we don't have any excursions planned. Since this is our first cruise, (but probably not our last) we're just going to wing it and see what happens. I did want to hit the Hard Rock Cafe on St. Thomas though.

It's funny, but DH is more of a shopaholic than I am - ESPECIALLY when it comes to electronics. I'm scared to see how much of a bill we're going to rack up there.

3 months and counting!!

Chrissy, your husband and I will definately do bidness in St. Martin and St. Thomas. Check this out for St. Martin/St. Maarten:

I already know where the electronic goodies are in St. Thomas!:D

Also, the Hard Rock at St. Thomas is very nice! I had a Pig Sandwich there and plan to do it again!!! YUM!!!

Laura, the only excursion that we are considering right now is the 12 Metre Regatta at St. Maarten. I'm gonna get me eye patch and me parrot and go sailin'!!! Ahrrrr!!!!! Prepare to be boarded!!
Ye scurvy dogs!!!

By the the way, I got an e-mail today informing me that my special
Ebay purchase is on it's way! Alert the media!!! ;)

Hi Gary - We are thinking of buying a new camcorder (we want one that also takes still photos). Do you think the deals are so good that it's worth waiting til we get to St. Thomas or St. Martin?

Chrissy - we aren't planning any excursions either. We're just going to play it by ear and take in what we can on our own... hopefully shopping in the morning and the beach in the afternoon... We want to go to Hard Rock, too...

Laura - my hubby is the same... he carries the wallet (and the bags...LOL!)

We just finished paying for the cruise today... now it seems real!!

Annie, You'll save big time if you wait! If purchased my current camcorder at Royal Carribean in St. Thomas. What makes it better is that they make it a package deal. Extra tapes, a spare battery, carrying case, and other goodies are usually included!
I'm not taking my current camcorder so I don't have to bring home two. I have a friend at work that is leaving on a NCL cruise this week-end that is going to to some pricing for me.
Also, no sales tax! It's 6% in Pennsylvania.

Group lunch at the Hard Rock! I'm having a pig sandwich!

This sounds like a great PLAN!!! NO Piggy sandwhich for this gal though! Hope they serve SANGRIA!!! :) I had both my cam corder and 35mm last cruise.......I got so hung up on the ships in port with us that I have many minutes of "oh look that ship is pulling away....oh look there's a rock climber on the Voyager ship (or was it the Explorer??)...ohh look The Norway is out there". I took very few hard pics. This time I leave the video home!Maybe.;) The excursions will be the easiest for my group to get around by. Dear friend Joe uses a cane and does not ambulate too quickly. What he lacks in speed, he makes up for in sense of humor....never a dull moment in our group of four.:p

Good morning campers!!! (Good Morning Uncle Gary!!!)

I hope you all had a good week-end. No mail today so I'll have to wait to tomorrow to get my Special Ebay Purchase (SEP). I hope you can stand the suspense!!!

Laura, I have the same conflict. I have a digital camera, a regular 35MM camera and a camcorder. I look like the ultimate tourist when I carry them all. I have an extra large fanny pack to carry the stuff touring and a backpack to get the stuff back and forth from home.

And I think the Hard Rock will have just about any adult beverage you desire!

WizardMickey, Here's some more electronic goodie links!!!
Sorry Chrissy, I guy's gotta do what a guy's gotta do!;)

Hello everyone! Just checking in. Ah, more electronics links. The hubby has been in 7th heaven dreaming of all the goodies he'll be coming home with. He's like a kid in a candy store when it comes to that.

Congrats Annie! Isn't it a great feeling to finally have the cruise paid off? I know it had me grinning all day :)

I like to get the special drinks at Hard Rock where you get to keep the hurricane glass. I collect those and the hubby collects the shot glasses. I've run out of room in the display case though! Time to upgrade :)

Everyone have a great day!!
