As far as the biggest nut goes, it's definitely ME! My DH thinks I'm obsessed with these boards and with planning. My DD thinks it's funny that all I ever talk about is our trip. But it is coming up fast. We have to get our passport photos taken next week. The only thing I haven't done yet is the car rental. They seem to be so much more costly than the last time we went... I was thinking it would be neat to rent a convertible but I don't know if all our luggage would fit.

to sink in. 78 days and the holidays in between.....such pressure. I received my insurance info yesterday AND my DCL bus transfer confirmations. Does anyone find themselves constantly checking and rechecking confirmations, the dates ect. like me. I have this recurring dream that I messed up the day of departure for our flight out and we arrive the day after the ship leaves.
Gary-Speaking of *fixtures* at the DS....I'm so disappointed in the merchandising. If I had small children I'd have no problem spending money, but-the *big kids* stuff is gone! It's just not the same. BOO More money to spend on the cruise!!!!
Annie- I have my co-workers doing the countdown with me. They will ask "How many days?". Do you think they're looking forward to my leaving so they don't have to listen to me?
Chrissy- I recently rented a car since mine was in the shop. Did you guys know they charge a $2.00 p/d homeland security fee? (at least they do here in Jersey) Not many $$, but it makes you think long and hard about the measures needed to deter terrorism.

I know what you mean about the Disney Store merchandise Laura. I still pop in and look, but with no little ones to buy for, I rarely get anything there anymore. I usually just stock up on vacation!!

I didn't know about that homeland security fee either. I haven't run across it down here in Florida (that I know of).

Annie, don't feel bad, I'm obsessed with this board too. I lurked for quite some time picking up info and absorbing everything I could. It really is a valuable resource for "insider" information.

There were shots of the 12 Meter Regatta in it that have me convinced I want to do that!!! I can hardly wait to check out the Magic. I always do a tour of the whole ship on the first day/night to get a feel of the ship. I'll have the Pepsi hat on so you'll pick me out of the crowd!

Two weeks to WDW!!! It's going to be a bit of culture shock staying at the All-Star instead of OKW! But we'll be there!

It will take more than a first day/night to figure out the lay of The Magic. I was always going the wrong direction even after a few days on board. Foreward...aft....I don't know, just point me in the right direction for the shopping.
Hey, how about that news of the sicknesses on board The Magic! Scarey, isn't it? What would you all do in that case....cruise or cancel and rebook? I guess that is the time travel insurance would come in pretty handy now wouldn't it.

Wow, I just got caught up on the thread about what's happening on the Magic. I feel so sorry for the people affected on board as well as what the Thanksgiving cruisers must be going through! If it were us, I think we would just go ahead and cruise as planned. I trust Disney to make the right decision and it sounds like they are by disinfecting the ship while at sea and delaying their sail for a few hours. The "unexpected" is exactly why we got insurance! These kind of hand/mouth illnesses are everywhere, it's just being in a confined environment like a ship makes you more likely to come in contact with it and it can spread like wildfire. Going to go add a large bottle of Purell to my packing list!!!

I am amazed at some people's lack of common hygiene....."wash your hands", it is such a no brainer. Lots of people, close quarters, it doesn't take much to spread those types of things. Well, anyway.....another rainy day in *paradise* here. I had a vivid dream I was on The Magic last night. Warm sun, tropical drink, and no cares or worries. I can feel it all now!!!!

we'll be looking for ya. One ?....no skin? 'splain that one (Lucy) I'm not worried about germs and such. Things happen, but being prepared is your best defense. Another *Jersey Girl* here huh? If you don't mind my asking....which exit are ya!!!!

It was just a little pun , washing my hands so much the skin will come off. My first response to distress is sometimes humor. And being a nurse sometimes I wash my hands so much I really feel like my skin is falling off.

We are exit 91 or 88, depending on preference. On the shore. I noticed many of the Disney fans are here in NJ.

I truely believe whatever this virus issue is will be cleared up way before the first of Feb.

Now I understand. Just a little slow here in the NW part of the state, nowhere near an exit. I have no doubt it will be cleared up. Heck, we can send them some of this "cold" weather we are having.....it will kill any ol' germ that is lurking around down there.

Good Morning everyone!

Let's hear it for a short work week!!!

We were on a cruise on a Holland America ship that had the flu going through it. I didn't come down with it until the day after the cruise. After that we were more conscious of the hand washing thing.

Yeah! We like short weeks! Anybody planning on hitting those day after Thanksgiving sales? I will if I feel like it after Thursday's feast. I always end up feeling so full and tired and don't do squat for the rest of the weekend! Hee hee.

I plan on hitting those day after T-Day sales...... but from the other side of the register!!! I HAVE to work. Good ol' retail. Somehow I missed my *RN* calling. I've decided to cut back on my work schedule Jan. 1 and work semi full time....that is if the boss sees eye to eye with me!
What a messy situation on The Magic. It will just take time and diligence...scrub-a-dub-dub. It can happen anytime and anywhere. There are worse things in life!
So, our days are growing shorter. Found out my DF Char has already packed! And I thought I was anxious. I'd forget what was in my luggage this far in advance.
Well...Happy Turkey Day to you all if I don't get a chance to check in before then. Too much to do and so little time........me oh my. And snow is on the way...did I tell you I work at a ski/snowboard retail shop? I get double whammy the day after T-day. Have a great day.

I don't know if I'm shopping on Black Friday yet. I have to check out the ads in today and tomorrows paper to see if it will be worthwhile.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone a day early since I probably won't be on the board tomorrow. I'm making my pies now and doing what I can ahead of time. Whew! I need a bigger kitchen.

Somehow you and karaoke just seem to go together Gary. I enjoy it but the DH hates it. I made him go once and he vowed never again. Another Buffet fan - Cool!

Laura, my dad works retail so I can feel for you. He always dreads the day after Thanksgiving. We'll probably only hit a few stores and that's with a list in hand - no browsing on that day! Been there, done that, got run over by crazy shoppers with carts!

Hope everyone had a safe and DELICIOUS Thanksgiving. I survived the 17 hours of Black Friday shoppers! This is the coldest November we have had in a long time.....it really put the skiers and boarders in the spending mood!
On to warmer things...I love karaoke also...but from my seat! I haven't braved it onto the stage yet. I loved the movie Duets with Gwyneth and Huey Lewis. They sang one of my favorites....*Cruisin' Together*.
So Gary and Gail are heading for the Sunshine State.......have a great time. Chase away those nasty germs on The Magic for us OK? I think *our ship* needs a good dose of Pixie Dust. Let's all pray the circle will be broken now that she is off line for the week. Oh, well, I "hear" the sofa calling me. Happy days shipmates! tick, tick, tick!!!!

Yep, we're getting ready to head for WDW, and not a moment too soon!!! It's been snowing all through the holiday week-end here. That's the wonderful thing about Lake Effect Snow or LES as we not-so-affectionally call it around here

We hit the ground running on Thursday. Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Celebration that night.

We got a four day, three night package through the Disney Club at the All-Star Sports. We might have to drive over to Port Canaveral and bless the Disney Magic with holy water (Diet Pepsi)
to chase away the evil spirits!!!

Yes, I ate too much. Pepsid is a wonderful thing! But a short work week and off to Mouseland!

Have a great time at WDW Garry!!! It has been snowing heavy here all day. Just after we got rid of the last batch of snow. I hope you have great weather and a great time. I just got back from Toronto and I think they have lake effect snow. It wasn't that cold outside but with the humidity, it seems to go right through you. I was happy to come home to our dry cold but will be even happier to go on the cruise in Florida and enjoy some hot sunshine!!!
