We are visiting Disneyland from Australia in Sept and Oct on 2 seperate occasions.

I had assumed I would get 3 day park hoppers for each visit but it seems it would actually be cheaper to get an AP.

The only problem is that I would miss out on one MM- the first trip we are staying at DGC so would get a MM but second time we are staying at HOJOs.

I think it will be $70 cheaper to get the AP per person so what would you do?

Also we won't be able to use the AP after October- is it possible to sell it?

Many thanks for you help and opinions.

I would get the 3 day hoppers for the first trip, use the MM and then upgrade to the AP once you have used the MM. You get discounts on food with the AP so that will be nice too.

You cannot sell the AP, they are non-transferable and will have your picture on it. :goodvibes

Since you are staying on property the first trip, just get the AP. Then you will get the discounts that go with it for both trips. HOJO has an AP discount also, make sure to see if that would change your rate for the second trip. Depending on the three days you are there you may get two MM when you are at GC (you get to do MM any day it is offered if you are on property).
Enjoy.:yay:

Also, the 20% merchandise discount on AP's has been extended through September 30! So if you want to get gifts for others... or yourself it's a great savings! You could also look into staying onsite in October with the AP discount. We got GREAT rates at the PPH and the GCH with the AP. AP!! Can you tell I am a little biased?

I thought it was 10% on the DAP and 20% on the PAP.

You're probably right blackjackdelta, I have the premium so I didn't pay attention I was just so happy when they told me the 20% had been extended since last summer my merch discount was only 10%! :-) Sorry if you were looking at Deluxe AP's! I didn't mean to get you all excited if it's not right for you! :-)

Keep in mind that the first weekend of September is blocked out.

Also if you might want to go more days they have the pay for 3 get 5 parkhopper for sale online, which is good through September.

thanks for the input everyone

I guess its the Ap then- Just seems a shame that it can be used all year but I won't be able to use it again.

I am already getting the entertainment rate at HOJOs so don't reckon the AP rate will be better than that.

We are there Mon- Wed the first time so will only get 1 MM and then in october we are there Mon-Thurs so there are 2 MM then but we wont be able to do any of them with a AP is that right? Unless I check out the rates for PP or another onsite hotel ( although my DS2 is looking forward to Pirates Cove now and at $69 a night its a bargain at HOJOS!)

gosh, this Disneyland vacations stuff is full of decisions !!!

Because of the months you are going I wouldn't be too worried about the MM one way or another. It's not going to be the weekend either where kids are coming and making a V line to Fantasyland.

The Entertainment rate and AP rate at HoJo's are identical. But if you're getting an AP anyway, it will save you purchasing an Entertainment card, if you haven't already.

Wow, I hadn't realized they'd done that! But I just checked their discussion boards, and yep, the amount is the same, dates are the same, for the big-time AP holder and Ent Rate discounts!

yeah I went onto Hojos and also saw ent rate was the same as AP and I hadnt got the card yet so am very pleased as that will save me even more money to spend on disney stuff!!

I booked the Hojos already with the ent rate, do you think I need to ring them and let them know I am using the AP rate instead?
