2,3,4...how many visits home per year?

Hi,

Mom & I are fairly new to this but we are going to HH in October in a 1bedroom for 3 days. I had to burrow points from next year to do this. We have 2 trips that are in the "planning stages" In May 2005, a "trip home" BCV for 3 days in a studio & 4 nights on the Wonder. Then our first 7 night disney cruise in May 2006. We will see what happens after our 1st trip.

We purchased enough points to stay in a 1 bedroom twice a year, June and October with a dozen or so points to spare. Both trips are 4 or 5 nights including the weekend each time and we bank the extra few points. Next June we are planning to use the extra points for 2 nights at VB before we go to BCV for our usual June stay.

Really interesting to see everybody's vacation schedules. My DW, 1 yr old DD and I are going to the F & W festival this year for our first week using the DVC. Hope to go 2x/yr if we can. For some reason, I can't get enough of the atmosphere in WDW. It truly is magical.

We are a mix:
1st trip: studio a week, Oct 01
2nd trip: 1 bdrm, 8 nights, Oct. 02
3rd trip: studio, 5 nights, May 03
4th trip: 1 bdrm, 4 nights Oct 03
5th trip: 1 bdrm, 1 week or more, oct 04
The three trips between Oct 02 and Oct 03 are a first for us, partly because of DVC and partly because we got AP's in Oct 02 and DH thought we needed to get lots of use out of them
Would have gotten them sooner, if I had known the effect it was going to have on him!! The studio stays help to stretch those points for longer trips at other times. I can see us going more in Oct. DH and I enjoy the Disney Golf Classic and it is F& W time.

DH and I bought with plans to go in January for a week
and then go for 3-5 days in October every year.
So far the first year 2001 we banked our points,
2002... we spent a few days before and after our cruise in Jan. in a one bdrm, then took the kids in March for a week in a 1 bdrm. DH and I went back in Oct for a cruise and after spent 4 days in a studio.
2003... so far we spent a week in Jan in a studio, I went on a cruise with DD, we stayed before and after in a studio. DH and I will be going back in October for 3 nights in a studio. For 2004 we have already booked a week in a Studio in January, I will be going on a cruise with DD in Feb, so we will stay before and after in a studio, and we plan on taking both DDs, DD's BF, and my "adopted Granddaughter" for a week in a 2 bdrm. That will use up all our 2004 points

I'm going to try and make at least 4 trips a year, 1 with each of my 2 sons and there families, and 2 solo.

Well, we started out that we would go once a year. Then we decided we wanted a week at HH and a week at WDW. Since we joined in 2000, this is the first year we have done a week at each. However, we are going home 4 times next year. WDW over New Year's and August and then HH at the beginning of June and Thanksgiving. After that, we will probably go 3 times a year. It really is addictive!

Usually two 7-10 day trips in a 2 bedroom, but sometimes we switch to a 1 bedroom if we find it is only the two of us going, and sometimes we get a GV if we have more than 8. Occationally we sneak in a third shorter trip.

We go down every Xmas, usually spend a week in a one bedroom, this is our treat! We come back down in January, and stay in Tampa till April, retirement. it's tough but someone has to do it!! We usually go for 5 days each month during are winter stay, for these visits we get a studio!

Good question..... I cant wait until we get into a normal vacation pattern with our points..... right now we are going nuts.... lol

After the HUGE May moms meeting we have planned in Feb, we have no real plans for another large point trip (feb trip is costing us over 1100 points and we are tapped out until 2005 lol)

The PLAN.......... If for us to take 2 trips per year (May and December/Jan)...... 9 days, 2 bedrooms..... various DVC resorts with two days added on with the Disney Collection....... Then a trip to HH for the boys golfing, a girls trip to Food and Wine..... and maybe one or two other short trips to WDW.......
