Our day began in the usual fashion...Deck 9 coffee, croissant, hot tub & swim during the 6 o'clock hour. The sun was rising, and it was going to be a great day. Oh, the poor souls back home in Pennsylvania dealing with another cold, gray, snowy day!
After a 2nd dose of the hot tub it was time for a walk around deck 10. You never know who you might meet...Good morning Missisaugamom! As the ship approached Cozumel, it looked like "the fleet" was arriving. Everywhere ships appeared to be heading for Cozumel! It was quite a sight.
By the time I returned to the room, the rest of the family was getting ready for another day. We were in no rush to get off the ship, so we had a leisurely breakfast at Topsiders. As the week went on more people found out about the made to order omeletts. The line was becoming quite long!
Aside from some shopping, we had no touring plans for Cozumel. Eventually, we went ashore. DD6 has been learning Spanish. She also wanted a sombrero. The first place we came upon she immediately found the "perfect" sombrero. Not much room for haggling. The shop owner came down $4. Even at that "bargain price"we soon found out that was the most expensive hat on the island! Oh well, DD6 does look cute in her sombrero, and it will be great for show n tell when she returns to school. DD6 has been learing Spanish. The shop owner was quite impressed when she spoke to her in Spanish. Honestly, I was pretty impressed, too. When I was six years old I thought English was the only language! We proceeded down the main street to Viva Mexico where DW bought vanilla. DW is a wonderful baker, and she uses a lot of vanilla. (I enjoy sampling her work!). Last year at Viva Mexico, DCL passengers were offered a free bottle of vanilla when they bought large bottles of vanilla. DW mentioned this. The Viva Mexico person denied knowing anything about this. DW said we would by our vanilla somewhere else. Soon the free bottles were offered. DW is a much better shopper/haggler than I. As we made our way back to the ship I was checking out the hammocks. I regretted not getting one last year. This year I found the perfect one. It is a single seat hammock, so it can hang from one tree. Since we only have one mature tree in the back yard this was important.
Soon we were back at the ship, and headed to Pluto's for lunch. DD6 wanted to go swimming, so before long we were in the pool. Port days on the ship are great. Most of the passengers are ashore, leaving the rest of the ship uncrowded.
DW & DMIL were off to the spa. They did the Spa Taster which included the message & facial. They both enjoyed this. Throughout the evening we teased about how "radiant" they were after their facials.
Soon it was time for the bridge tour. On our last cruise we had the pleasure of having dinner every night with the Magic's former Navigator and his family. Thier twin girls, and our DD had a blast! It was very enjoyable. This year DD6 wanted to see where the twin's Daddy worked. Ellen, of the cruise staff gave a great bridge tour! DD6 was excited to see where the navigator
checked charts, and the special big blue chairs for the captain!
Now it was naptime! We wanted to be well rested for the Mexicalifragilisticexpialidocious deck party!
Dinner was highlighted by a mariachi band that played throughout the dining room. That was followed by everyone doing the "limbo". DD6 & I had fun doing this last year, and looked forward to it again. The adults at the table took pictures of us "kids" limboing through the dining room!
Following dinner DD6, DW, and DMIL went to see the Premiere at Sea of "Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen". More than 3 weeks later DD6 is still singing the title song. I decided to go ashore and wander through the nearby shops. After purchasing two T-shirts it was time to meet up with my family back at the WD Theatre. DW was getting tired so following the movie she returned to the room while DMIL, DD6, & I were ready for the Mexicali Deck party. We were still too full from dinner to sample the buffet, but DD6 was ready to dance. Soon the music began and the deck party was underway. There certainly is a lot of energy in this show! The dancers, characters, cruise staff, and band put on quite a show. By 11pm the busy day was catching up with DD6. She didn't want to dance. It was time to return to our room where the Magic would rock us to sleep.

Another great report, thanks!

Those darling children do make it difficult to haggle when they have their mind set, don't they. I am also impressed, but not surprised by your daughter's Spanish. My kids pop out with Spanish phrases occasionally to my astonishment. I discovered they have a lovely senora who teaches them art (and Spanish evidently) regularly.

Thanks for the great story.
