Cast: DH,Fav Cousin and self. All fun loving adults that love life........and food.......and fine entertainment....and tropical settings and being surrounded by great people. So, it may not be a big surprise to hear that we had an INCREDIBLE time!
The weather was fabulous, the seas were great and the ship was as magnificent as always.
Day 1 was spent enjoying my awe struck 45 year old cousin's reaction and comments while exploring the ship. After unpacking, life boat drill, standing on deck 10 taking in the departure from the port (complete with dolphins),bingo, dinner with the always entertaining Zaldy and walking around the ship MANY times it was time to retire.
Day 2 was spent in Key West. We walked up Duval Street stopping first at a street vendor that had shells that they "engrave" names into. Actually they remove the shell and leave the name raised. VERY pretty and they had names that we NEVER get without requesting them ourselves.Very cool. We then went to Margaritaville-very small store BUT DC had to see it. On the way back to the ship we stopped for frozen custard, KINOs and finally conch fritters. Back to the ship then for dinner at Palo. We had Marco as our server. What a perfect evening. Watching the sunset while sitting in Palo.
Day 3 was a very relaxing day at sea. We slept in, had brunch at Palo, laid by the pool had dinner at PC, and then walked around the ship...once again.
Day 4 was at Grand Cayman. We tendered in and went to Atlantis to go in the submarine. Word to the wise. They had NOTHING left for the entire day! I didn't notice a drastic cost difference. $89 to book with Disney, $84 if you walk up yourself.BOOK ONBOARD!
We went to 7 mile beach and then shopped at the glass blowers shop. Back on board we got ready for Pirate night....ARGH!
Day 5 was spent at Chankanaab National Park in Cozumel. Beautiful place, great snorkeling and a authentic Mexican lunch. Back at the ship we had dinner in Animator's Palate and then just enjoyed the ship, even though we were in port until 1:00 A.M.!
Day Six another relaxing day at sea. There was pool time and Bingo and dinner all of which was followed by Rich Purpura's show.HYSTERICAL!!!
Day 7 was in Shangri La............Heaven on earth...
Castaway Cay.No words can describe the beauty or experience of this island. DH and DC spent SEVERAL hours snorkeling. They found so many treasures! They brought in Conch, starfish, sea bicuits, sand dollars, hermit crabs, etc. anything live we promptly took pictures of and then returned them to the ocean. There was 1 starfish that was so large it spanned the distance from DC's finger tip to the bend in his arm! Hint. If you collect sand dollars and seashells there are SO MANY at the far end of Serenity Bay.DOZENS!
All in all we had the time of our lives! We will try to get some pictures loaded soon.....
