Day 2 -- thus far!
Day 2 began with strange sounds in our stateroom around 7 AM. We couldn't figure out why it sounded like the engines were in reverse and that thrusters were being used. My dh went to explore and was surprised when we were docked at Nassau!
Someone evidently had a heart attack onboard and we docked only long enough for the evacuation of that passenger. It was an extra treat for those of us who were awake to see what the port looks like.
We were told we will still arrive on time in St. Martin tomorrow.
The weather is GLORIOUS! It is bright and sunny - smooth seas! The pools are full of cruisers, young and old alike!
We had omelettes for breakfast (still trying to stick to Atkins) at Topsiders then headed to deck 10 to watch our departure from Nassau.
We had the AFB couples massage this morning and were pleased with the service. I booked a well-being massage for myself for 8 AM tomorrow. What a way to begin the day! The rainforest was great. We went into the light steamroom, heavy-scented steamroom and gentle sauna. The scented was my favorite.
We ate lunch in Lumiere's. We both selected the tuna salad for the appetizer which could have been our total meal. We opted for the grilled chicken as the entre. It was sweet to the taste - we suppose it was marinated in some type of lime something-or-other.
This afternoon, we went to the matinee of The Golden Mickey's. I was impressed with the show. Different characters make appearances in this show than the other shows that will come later in the week. Pocahontus, Cruella, Woody, Snow White are just a few of those in the GM.
Tonight is formal night. We will attend our early seating and then head off to the captain's reception. We'll have extra time on our hands before we go to see the adult cabaret show with Michael Harrison. We're looking forward to his show. Tonight is also 70's Disco Night at 11 PM. We'll also attend that!
Bands aboard the ship are Franke & The Westend Boys, Kathy and Si, and Kool Breeze.
Oh -- almost forgot to mention -- went into the Cove Cafe and was impressed with the setup there. Computers for internet are available there as well as a big screen TV.
Diversions is the place for sports nuts. I know that they broadcasted several basketball games yesterday - haven't been by there yet today.
I went into The Stack. It is more spacious for the teens compared to Common Grounds. My 14 yo DD was there along with several other teens until 1:30 AM this morning. Needless to say, my DD didn't wake up until noon when I went to get ready for lunch! Nothing has changed for her . . . up all night, sleep all day!
If anything spectacular happens the rest of today and tonight, I'll add to this post!
