2/15/2013 - 8 Night Western Cruise, Galveston, TX

We are definately going to have to plan ahead for how we're going to eat etc. We may just have to grab breakfast once we get there leaving that early. I'm going to plan on being down to disembark no later than 6:15, so we'll probably have to get up around 5. That does seem early for vacation, but the next day is a sea day so we can sleep in! We don't want to miss a minute at WDW. The kids probably won't make it until park close so we'll head back to the ship once they are sleepy.

Don't forget free room service!!! We plan on ordering room service the night before - things like fruit and pastries - so the kids can be eating while the grown ups shower and dress. Then, we'll probably grab a snack as soon as we get to MK (hello Main Street Confectionary!) or just head straight to lunch depending on what time we arrive (we're on the 8:15 bus - I'm pretty sure my husband would have filed for divorce if I had told him we were leaving at 6:30 on vacation!!). :cloud9:

I totally understand, Katie! Thus, the reason that I am on the 6:30 bus with my mom and the kids and my DH is on the 8:15 bus wtih his Dad. Of course, he knew he was marrying a Disney addict years ago, so when he heard the bus choices he immediatly said, "I know you will be on the 6:30 bus"... Always good when your DH knows you well enough not to argue about things like this. :thumbsup2

On our first cruise the night before one of our stops I ordered room service and got PB and J uncrustables (not on the menu but they have them). Just ask them to leave them wrapped not cooked. I used them for the kids for lunch the next day when we were in port. I wasn't sure where we would be eating and if the kids would like anything so I wanted to have something for them.

I am not sure if they still have them but they did a few years ago.

Best. Advice. Ever.

I have a SERIOUSLY picky toddler who will actually skip meals rather than eat something she doesn't like. Unfortunately, she is very sensitive to blood sugar changes so when she skips a meal, she shakes really badly. I try to carry grapes and things with us wherever we go but that's a problem on the cruise because they have seeds and customs officials won't let you carry anything with seeds between countries. This may be the perfect solution!!! THANK YOU!!! :flower3:

I'm living right between the land of M and OSU right now and lean O-H-.....

I-O......my DH would be so proud I did that. :rotfl2:

So, I was having a problem signing onto disboards, which is why I haven't posted in so long. But I have been reading. I can't believe how close we are getting...actually past our paid in full date.

Anyone else book/or move a dummy date, to 2014? I had a dummy date booked waiting for the 2014 dates to open up and called this morning...I originally had the 2/15 Western sailing on the Fantasy, then I called back and switched it to the 4/20 Eastern. :yay:

Also, wanted to add that for those of you doing the FEE that aren't on FB....we are in both groups and we have 2 cabins, but I just wanted to make sure everyone knew that we are only 1 family. We will only have 1 FE hanging from one of our 2 cabins. So if you are doing a cabin gift we only need 1. Hope that makes sense. :thumbsup2

They had them a 2 yrs ago but I'm not 100% sure they still have them. they weren't on the room service menu I just asked.

Should have a quick meet up on sailaway day just to introduce each other and let the kids meet!

We have a meet up planned in the Promenade Lounge in between muster and sailaway... we just haven't talked about it in a while. My fault! We're also probably having another meet up the next day late morning, just a more loose get together.

On a different topic, sorry to be a pest... but I still really need the FE list, if anyone can help. I can't seem to remember to pull it up when I get home at night to send it to myself -- there's always so much else going on. I just really need it in an Excel file. Is there anyone who can shoot it to me right quick?? Pretty please? :flower3:

I am new to the boards also and my family will be joining this group for the cruise! I would like to add my name to the list of people interested in forming a 3rd FE group...:yay:

Hi castawaygirl,

We have a great group here and are glad to have you as a part of it. :cool1: The 3rd FEE group is going strong. Please email me your cabin number, family last name, adult names, kid names with ages, where you are from, t-shirt sizes, any special celebrations while on board, your email address that you use for Google, and any allergies. My email address is beth@sitesandsounds.com.

Thanks,
Beth

I can email it to you, Gina. PM me your email address. :)

Beth

Thanks so much Beth! Kim was kind enough to send it to me in Excel. Now I can stress over it in earnest, LOL. Thanks again!

Quick question -- the link I have for the FEE Google doc says "view only"... is there a shared version link? That way we can all see the most updated info (I just realized I needed to update mine!)

Thanks!!

Gina - If you PM me your google email address I can add it to the document. That will allow you to also edit it.

I was debating on whether to upload an image I made of all the cabin locations of the 3 FEE groups, but I thought some may like the hunt for the cabins and not want to see a map. So rather than posting an image here, I will post a link and if you want to see where the other cabins are, you can click on the link.

This is my first photobucket try, so I may have to do some tweaking if the image is poor quality.

Well - seems I have to have 10 posts to do this, and I only have 8. I'll ninja a few response in some other posts and be back.......

Another 16 year old boy! My son will be totally happy!! He'll be turning 17 the day after the cruise ends. I wonder if they'd want to chat ahead of time, or if that's just a girl thing?? Lol

I'll ask him. Normally his brother is with us on the cruises, but this time around he's in college, and I told him he's not missing a week of school to go (photography classes can't really make up missed classes). So he won't have his brother with him to hang out with.

FSU88 (Jeff) and Kreedham, let me know if you would like to do the FEE. If so, I will get a 3rd group started and will also exchange with you. How about you dgmommie? Would you like to be in the FEE. I can’t wait until we reach Gold status. :cool1:

Anyone else lurking that would like to join the 3rd FEE group?

I haven't done one before. Can you tell me what is involved ahead of time to do this? And FYI - I'm beyond thrilled to be filling sailing as a gold member! Seems like it took a long time (and a lot of money LOL) to get here.

Also, I see there is a Facebook group. Can I join that? I spent more time on FB than here since I can get that from my phone easily. I need the group name. I will someday hopefully have time to go back through the 21 pages of posts I haven't read yet. :-)

Thanks!

I actually do remember talking about this once upon a time. Despite my many DCL sailings, I'm a little rusty on my nautical terms. What is muster? Is that the safety drill?

My DD, Julia, (11) wants to know if any of the other girls her age want to chat via email before the cruise. I know some of you are saving the cruise as a Christmas surprise though so I told her she may have to wait a bit. :)
