2/13/2011 Disney Dream 4 Day Cruise

YAY!!! Just checked the DCL website, and we are in cabin #9146!!!!!!! Finally know that we are officially on the ship LOL!

16 more days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:banana::cheer2::banana::cheer2::banana::cheer2:

We are right down the hall from you in 9162. They tried to upgrade us to 9152, but we said no thank you - Hope we don't regret it. ONLY 11 more days to go!!!!!!!!!

This is Sam. Well we have 3/4 inch of ice and still have power. I really hope that we dont get another snow storm next weekend cause we are driving. I wish we where flyhing but the wife has never flown before and we are what the airlines call customers of size. So it is cheaper to drive the 17 hours. So if it is snowining we will be leaving earlier than the 6 am start on Saturday that we where planing on doing. I cant wait to see you all on the ship. Somebody get me a drink ready...:woohoo:

I think we will all be ready for a drink:rotfl2: I don't know how many of you enjoy the adult district at night but we had a blast on the last cruise. The host was so funny, we saw alot of our fellow Disboarders in there every night. Walt and I are homebodys so we don't normally go out when we are at home but we love all the games and trivia stuff they do, kareoke (spelling) is a blast I have never laughed so hard:lmao:.So I figure we will all be running in to each other:rolleyes1

What a day! Power out in 1/2 our county, but not us. I work for a grocery chain (in charge of HR) and one of our stores was out of power. Spent all day pulling cases due to no refrigeration. Well, power is back on now so I start my morning there.

No school tomorrow again. Power out at several buildings. I could have skated to work in the morning.

Oh, and we are flying down Saturday afternoon. I HATE that drive and haven't done it for 20 years. A little nervous since it is the day before.

Amy and I are homebodies too, but seldom get to the clubs even though we would like to. Our DD Sophia can be a bit shy, and does not really like staying in the kids clubs long. Our pager would constantly go off when we went down there.

We are hoping to be in the clubs at night as long as our kids like the clubs. They have really been excited about the clubs so heres hoping!!

We are driving down on the 10th, spending Friday in Tampa and Saturday night in Cape Canaveral. I'm getting super excited!! I bought sunscreen and a waterproof disposable camera from Walgreens tonight!!

I hope Kaitlin wont be shy Cause she is that way most of the time. I have been trying so hard to get her to nit be so shy...

Stated packing DD's stuff last night then I decided to try on a few dresses. I just have one word.... SPANX! Oh this has been a horrible winter!

This trip is really a pain to pack for- the weather is so unpredictable this time of year! Summer dresses, fleece tops, sunscreen, jeans.... The 3 of us are checking 3 bags (10 days) and I just don't know how I am going to get it all in! When we were in WDW back in mid-December it was freezing! All the flowers were covered up with tarps and we had to wear gloves every night. I am so afraid for that again!

Question:
DH hates to dress-up. When we go to the dinner, are other men going to be wearing jeans? I have only done 7-nighters on RCL where jeans were not allowed. I did some internet searches last night and looks like they are allowed, but I am curious if men actually wear them to dinner? I swear he would wear crocs to work if he could.... <sigh>

Hopefully since they have been emailing they will be not as shy.

As to Jeans, I have seen it in the dining rooms, but I would be uncomfortable and self-conscious. Other than formal night, I wear a pair of Dockers - just as comfortable, and you don't stick out. BUT.it has been 3 years since our last cruise.

Dockers for my DH too.

And God bless the creators of Spanx! Although I won't be wearing any for awhile, found out we are PG. Now really thankful we are getting this vacation in because it will be a few years before budget allows again. Darn, was really looking forward to cocktails in the warm evening air, but this is good too. Just hope I won't be nauseous.

another vote for spanx here too:rotfl2: We were there in December too, when they set there record low:scared1: at night and a new record low for the day:sick: we went to the MVMCP and it was so cold they cancelled the stage show because it was to cold and dangerous for the dancers I went to CS and said what about the danger to your paying customers standing in it to watch:lmao: we got free tickets for next years event:thumbsup2
Your DH will be fine in jeans as long as he wears a nice shirt (polo etc.) there is no "formal" formal night. Now if you have Palo ressies you will need dress clothes and Remy requires a jacket.

Dockers for my DH too.

I hope that all of you travelling through and from the terrible snow arrive safe and sound to the cruise. I am a worrier! We are flying in the day before and staying close to the port the night before. I am soooo glad we did a non stop to Orlando!

Went to purchase a new suitcase with DH last night. On our last trip we were the family with all their clothes on the conveyor belt:scared1:

I am soo excited about the movie list too. I have not seen some of them. My husband really likes to see the movies on board. We like the night shows too! I am excited for the new show.....I am juse excited:banana::banana::banana:

My children are looking forward to the clubs. We normally have to tell them they have no choice and have to spend time with us:rotfl2: It will be interesting with our 17 DS. He normally finds a few friends on the boat or plays BB all day!

I started to read some of the reviews and IMP it looks like there were a lot of people just expecting FREE stuff. I heard people stealing the Do Not Disturb signs, and the little knives from Animators Palate. I have been a little worried about our FE. I hope no one takes them. I am an avide scrapbooker and these things would be great but that is what a camara is for. I know those knives look really cute and if they had them for sale, I might buy one:)

I look forward to seeing you REAL SOON!

BTW--We will be wearing our Cruisin Christensen's tees sometime during our trip. So if you see us say "Hi!"

I'm watching the weather and so far so good-- so Jetblue is still the way to go!!

I haven't started packing yet. I did make a door magnet!!!! One week from tonight! I'll be so ready to leave.

I can't wait to see the new ship!

:cool1: Ready to go we will be on our way to Orlando next friday. hoping that formal night is valentines day and pirate nite is castaway cay day!!! :confused3 Hope everyone has a safe trip.

Where did you hear there wasn't a formal night? I don't want to pack fancy clothes for the family if I don't have to!

:yay: SO excited to leave this frozen tundra in just 5 days . We're sneaking out of here just before another storm hits Weds. night. Our flight is @ 7:20 in the a.m. Let's hope they don't change the forecast!!!!! :scared1:
