2/07/2013 4 - Night Bahamian Cruise, Miami FL on Wonder

If you haven't been, the Butterfly House in the Key's is really fun and there is also a fabulous toy store. It is called the Key West Toy Factory and is upstairs in the Clinton Square Market. The decor puts you in the mind of a Rainforest Cafe.

We did do the key west toy factory...wasn't what I thought it would be. My son got NASA figures, kind of like the plastic army men in a bag and it cost me $11!!! I may look into the butterfly house this time

No the toy store is definitely expensive but the decor is cool. We were there in Nov. with another cruise line and my son really enjoyed it and we all loved the Butterfly House. We walked to it, which was pretty far but a nice walk plus it is right by the beach so was nice as well. We hired a guy who biked us back and took us by way of back streets sharing tidbits of info along the way. We asked him about a good place for fish sandwiches which was clear back to the opposite end, so that's where he dropped us off. If was really fun and he was very informative. We will def. do it again this trip.

shellie and I bought trolly tickets. Kids are free . You can ride it all over key west and get on and off at any stop . I think it was only like 20.00 .

My DD wants to go to Hemmingway house to see the 6 toed cats .

where is the smallest bar ? what is it called ??

you should see my craft room floor -- it is covered in FE stuff / My husband just walks in and shakes his head . i am glad this is a small FE group for my first effort--

do they do wone or martini tastings on the ship ?? we should meet and do that .

I love doing the food/wine pairings class on Carnival .

We plan to stay on the boat for Key West. Being from South FL I've been there many times. :goodvibes

Can you pass on the trolley info (website maybe)?

We plan on staying on the ship in Nassau. We went there 13 yrs ago on our honeymoon and weren't impressed.

We are gonna do parasailing. Almost half the price of booking it through the cruise.

if it were just DD and I we would stay on board too - but we have first timers with us that want to get off and explore .

We have never been impressed with Nassau. Last year when we were there all 3 kids opted to stay on the boat so we gathered other couples who left their kids onboard as well and we all went to señor frogs:)

We r also from FL so don't do much on Nassau and keys. Going to let hubby decide this time since its his bday...but he doesn't know about it yet...

We will most likely get off at Nassau for a bit to visit the Greek restaurant/bar. We've been going there since we were dating. Last time we went with our girls and took pictures w the owner. Hopefully he is still around. Our friends usually text us pictures with him when they go. It's a fun tradition :-)

I am looking forward to exploring Key West just bc we've never been there.
BUT, I am most excited about Castaway Cay. I wish they had a cruise that just went there for a few days :)

i just checked the weather for Southern FLA area-- 77-80 degrees all week -- 0% precip !!!!

Speaking of -- this is the craziest week ever !!! we just got 3 inches of snow on friday - it has been 70 for the last 2 days and now they say snow again this friday ...WTH ????

Phyzz (and others too)- where do you live? Your weather sounds similar to ours. We are about 90 min N of Philly (Reading area).

Melissa

I'm in central jersey and its been crazy too. Although we didn't get much snow last week but I enjoyed the heat for a day

Nassau is okay...had a bad experience where a store clerk accused us of stealing and were escorted to the police station and strip searched when all along the store worker was the one that stole. Hence I usually stay ship-side in Nassau.

It's always fun to see people gazing at the fun on the Disney ship while docked.

Platinum castaway member after this cruise woohoo

I need to book our pickup on Monday...what time do we arrive? read a few things on disembarking at Miami with Disney, doesn't sound too bad.

'Cold' front coming through S FL right now...we will be in the 50's for the lows for a few days... cold for us Floridians but I'm sure it's shorts weather for those of you from the North.

It should warm up again by the time we sail next week
