We're going at the end of May on the basic DDP and have all but one of our TS ADRs set. I'm looking for suggestions for a 1TS restaurant that is not in the parks and serves really good steaks. I'd love to go to LeCellier, but the only ADR I could get all week was for a day that we plan to be in another park. Any recommendations? Thanks.

Grand Floridian Cafe

I don't like steak. Never willingly ate any and stopped eating it when I realised  that my mom could ground me  and my dad could spank me :headache: but there was nothing they could do that could make me eat steak or drink milk. :) :cool1: :dance3: :yay:

I am related to a steak-lover. Eats steak almost exclusively when eating out and often it at home. Can't be rare enough, likes it to moo a little. Doesn't want ANYTHING put on it. No seasonings, no special sauce, not even A-1. If you went out on the plains, shaved some meat off an animal and ran it through a fire for about 6 seconds, I think that would be his ideal steak. He's had the heart attacks to prove it, too.

Didn't really like any of the steak at WDW much. Thought the best one he had was at the Yachtsman at the Yact Club, which is now called "Captain's" something. Didn't care for Le Cellier a bit. Thought the Concourse sucked, too. I didn't see him eat at Grand Floridian, but I asked how he liked the steak and he just screwed up his face a little. So, it wasn't great but it wasn't awful - most people would probably like it.

I don't know if that helps any.

The Yachtsman at the YC or Kona at the Poly

The Yachtsman Steakhouse at the YC is still named the Yachtsman Steakhouse. It was the Yacht Club Galley at the YC that changed its name.
The Yachtsman Steakhouse is a 2 TS meal, so that will not work for the OP.
I liked my steak at the Kona Cafe at the Poly. It was very good. And the Poly is a beautiful resort to see too.
Have a Great Trip.

I had a great steak at Kona Cafe at the Poly! It was steak teryaki, but you can also get filet mignon there too!

Thanks for all the suggestions! Some of the places mentioned I was wondering about, others, I hadn't even considered. It seems that Kona Cafe is the big leader so far - and they have chocolate fondue as a dessert!

This is all making me want a steak - NOW!

Thanks again and keep the suggestions coming!

We ate at Kona cafe last trip and we have ressies for next month, this is probably our fav TS restaurant.

Has anyone been to the Concourse Steakhouse in the Contemporary lately? What about that choice?

I thought my filet at Kona was nearly as good as the one at LeCellier - definitely still VERY good!!! And delicious mashed potatoes, too - again, almost as good as LeCellier. These were my 2 fave restaurants!!

Spoodles has the steak kabob on the menu, and that's really good!! It's not your plan "steak and potatoes" type steak, but it's excellent. If you want it prepared in a plainer way, they'll do that for you. Great, fun atmosphere at Spoodles, and excellent appetizers and desserts.

Barring that, another vote for Kona. Good steak, great desserts. :hippie:

Another vote for Kona.

I also had a pretty good steak at Raglan Road. It had a whiskey glaze, if I remember correctly.

I was pleasantly surprised by the NY Strip at Olivias. The cabernet sauce was quite good.

I don't eat steak, but my mom thought the filet at Kona Cafe was divine... I see lots of rave reviews about it here too. You can cut it with a fork!
