DD6 and myself are going to be enjoying Free dining September 9th to 16th, I've done my planning and I'll have 1 TS credit left (DD on adult plan and I'm using her credits and paying OOP for her on some meals).

We have the following planned (if I can get ADR's):

Akershus breakfast
Le Cellier lunch
1900 Park Fare dinner
Sci-Fi lunch
Wolfgang puck Cafe dinner
Tusker house breakfast
Crystal Palace breakfast
Narcoosee's dinner
O'hana's breakfast
Chef Mickey's dinner

She loves steak and isn't fussy about lots of spices. I'd love to try somewhere we haven't been before and was thinking either O'Hana or Boma for dinner one night. I am planning the O'Hana breakfast as she's a huge Stitch fan and want to try as many different places, but I'm not sure if she'll go for the food at Boma and the idea of the steak and shrimp skewers are appealing.

Any thoughts, suggestions, comments gratefully appreciated!

Sorry noticed the spelling mistake in the thread title, can't change it!

By the way, it's 'Ohana, not O'Hana.

DW and I weren't that impressed with 'Ohana last time we ate there last October. Yes, it's a lot of food, but nothing that impressive.

I've never been to Boma, but if it were me, I'd head to Boma instead of 'Ohana. First of all, you're already going to 'Ohana for the character breakfast, and second, lots of people seem to give Boma rave reviews on here and other places.

Wow. That's a tough call to make. Both are different and special in their own ways.

'Ohana is fun, magical in the evening to watch the castle change colors (if you are lucky to get a window view), and the food is decent.

Boma is good food and loads of choices and zebra domes. The ambiance is pretty nice too being located in the AKL.

We went to both 'Ohana and Boma when our youngest was your DD's age. She loved both. But then she has always been an adventurous eater. We didn't find Boma too exotic. There are many kid-friendly options there where the food tastes absolutely normal and not spicy at all. It's a tough choice.

I think if I asked my DDs if they had to choose, they'd pick 'Ohana. Maybe you should describe both to your DD and have her help make the decision.

Good luck!

I would love to ask her opinion, the problem is I've booked this as a surprise trip (not that its really a problem!), so she won't find out we're going until we're on our way to the airport. :)

All she usually wants is steak, steak and more steak!

I would definitely go with Boma. We really enjoyed every meal we've ever had there. It has great options for both adventurous eaters (me, dh, and 2 ds) and the not even remotely adventurous eaters (my inlaws). You also have the added bonus of being in AKL, which is really spectacular.

We loved Ohana when we were there last month! The steak there is delicious! On top of having wonderful food they have activities like dancing etc for the kids during the meal. Its a fun night!

The choice is difficult.

'Ohana has entertainment that my kids really enjoy (especially the coconut race.)

Boma has a more subdued environment, but the food is really good and you can get the World Famous Zebra Domes for dessert.

If you have never stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, I think you should try Boma. Visiting the Lodge is an experience unto itself. It is beautifully themed and you can go out to the viewing area of the Lodge's private Savannah to see animals.

Lastly, looking at your list, you want to consider dropping the Wolfgang Puck Cafe and going to the Wolfgang Puck Express at DTD instead which is the best Quick Service restaurant in all of Disney World. Then you could use that last Table Service credit somewhere else. Just something to consider.

Have a great Trip!

I would recommend Boma. Here's a short review:

Boma is awesome. If you have any reservations about trying this restaurant – just do it. Go and eat. Try something new, have an old favorite and enjoy everything. I did not like everything I tried, but I did find some new things and it was good. Another highly recommended meal. Oh and the little pineapple cheesecake is to die for. Forget those oh too sweet Zebra Domes. Go for the cheesecake. You won't regret it. No one has cheesecake like Boma.

Oh boy, that is a tough one, we loved both of them. Ohana has a ton of meat, Boma has a lot different things, both are soooo good! :lmao: Like pp said, I would drop WGP and get both :goodvibes

Or maybe I'll be totally piggie like and pay OOP and go to all 3!!!!

DD loved WGPC when we were there in Feb and won't stop talking about the flatiron steak, so I know I'll be in big trouble if I drop that one. although I agree I think I'd rather do both Ohana and Boma instead.

Oh well, maybe I'll just see which ADR I can get and that might be the deciding factor for me! :worship:
