I can't find the thread right now, but wasn't there some rumbling about the first week of May 2005 being crowded due to special events celebrating Disneyland's 50th anniversary (since it's supposed to be a world-wide thing for all Disney parks)? If so, and with Easter landing in March this year, would the last week of April be better if you wanted lower crowds?

Thanks!
Karla B.

p.s. Yes, I know I've probably asked about every month so far...schedules keep changing!:sunny:

Probably. But keep in mind that some grad nights are near the end of April / very beginning of May, and that closes the MK at like 6:00PM some evenings. So just keep that in mind when doing your planning.

Grad nights have hardly any effect on crowds. they only affect early closing of MK on Fri/Sat. If you want to avoid the crowds of the 50th celebration the last week of April might be a good idea, but then again the second week of May would be better. With Soar and the Stuntshow, and probably lots of new shows and activities planned for the kick off on May 5th, going later in May (second or third week) would insure you being able to experience the New stuff. Also, not sure when Flower and Garden begins, so you may miss it in April. I, on the other hand, want to be in WDW for the 50th birthday kickoff celebration and have booked both the first and second weeks of May!! Can't wait!!:bounce:

Grad Nights are April 22, 23, 29, 30. We were there last April, MK closed at 7:00pm on those nights. The actual grad night doesn't start until 10 or 11.

I was there for Walt's 100th birthday celebration and it didn't make a huge dent in crowds. They did close MGM early one day so they could have a media party that evening. I think the "kickoff" is more for media people, not the general public. So I don't think the general public is going to be flocking there that week. The new attractions will be open the rest of the year (and beyond), no need for people to rush there for that week.
