We always go at the end of June & in Dec. We are going the 1st week of June this year. Can anyone tell me how the weather is and how crowded it may be.
Thanks,
Shannon

Here is what I was told to same question. Floridia in early June should feel a lot like Texas (Central) in early June, maybe a bit wetter. High 80's or Low 90's I think is what was posted here. Expect afternoon showers. Crowds should be lower than late June by some. Except maybe Saturday (the 5th, I think) in MK, which is a 'special' event.

I will be staying at Pop the first week of June!

We went last at this time and plan to go again this year.

The only really crowded day was Monday at MK but, with fast- pass, we had no problems doing everything we wanted to do.

We had one afternoon that was completely rained out, one afternoon with a brief shower, and Friday night (our last night), it rained from about 7:00 p.m. throughout the night. I felt bad for those who had bought e-tickets for that night, but glad we didn't!

HaleyB......We will be at staying at Old Key West cking in on the 5th. Our DD will be 16 and is bringing a friend to hang with so DH,DS-8 and me will be doing our thing. As you can tell I am from North East Tx and the first of June is not real bad. So I think maybe the first of June weather will be better than late June.
Thanks,
Shannon

The weather should be better and the crowds should be better as some schools are still in session at that time. We are not going until the 11th this year,so hoping that at least the first part of the trip wont be to crowded.
HaleyB and goofymomof2....I'm from the DFW area. Maybe I will see you there!

Had to chuckle cause we were there last year on the first week of June, also.
There were a couple of rainy nights, one esp. on an E-night, like an above poster stated.

Other than the weather being a little wetter than Texas, the temp still the same. Pretty nice to me.

As for the crowds, the family that we brought with us wouldn't believe me about getting up early, etc.
The am that we went to TL, finally after dragging them out of bed by 11 am, there wasn't a chair much less an umbrella in the whole place to be found!
to say the least....the crowds were there, just not quite as bad as end of June!

Another funny thing....everyone in line, or the next table, to us were from TEXAS !!!!!:wave2:
First week of June in WDW should be dubbed "TEXAS WEEK"!

;)

Except maybe Saturday (the 5th, I think) in MK, which is a 'special' event

"Special" event is Gay day for those who don't know.

Funny....even alot of the gay couples next to us in lines were from TEXAS also!::yes::

Thanks for all the info.

All the Tx poster I am from a little town in NE Tx called Hooks. We are about 2 hrs east of DFW area and 20 miles west of Texarkana. I hope the week we go there will be alot of Texans there also.

Maybe if alot of us are going we can meet & dub it Tx day or week.

I'm from Texas too -- College Station -- and I want to go June 6 - 12. I'll be working on DH to go then (we just got back 2 weeks ago), so hopefully, I'll be one of those at "Texas week!"

We are from Texas as well and were there the first week of June last year. BambiTamby we were at the rainsoaked E-night also. I kept looking around at all of us in the yellow ponchos. It was raining so hard the ponchos were not working that well. I told my wife that yellow is the color of idiots. But i would rather be an idiot in WDW than an Einstein at home anyday.::yes::

Wow, I wonder if all the Texans in WDW have anything to do with our school year. ;)
I think it should be Texas week, let's make a plan.
So is anyone else driving? We are and it is our first time going east from Austin. Anyone know a good place to stop? We drive to California about once a year, takes us 2.5 days (which I think means we drive pretty fast...).

I'll be there from Texas on May 31 or June 1. It should work out well just before the parks really fill up later in the month. Since we also have Six Flags passes, we are making a stop in New Orleans and Atlanta on the way to Disney, That should make for a great two weeks.

We're not from Texas, but we were at the E-night, too. Did everyone else ride Space Mountain with the lights on after it broke down.

We've been that week four out of the past five years and find it a great time to go. It IS crowded on Saturday at MK, though, so I wouldn't plan to be there in the middle of the day. At opening for a couple hours and in the evening are fine, however.

sorry, not from Texas but will be there 6/3-11 then on to Universal for 2 days. I'm so excited about 80's and 90's for temps since we have gone the last 2 Decembers and have froze! It'll be nice to fill up our mugs with something other than hot chocolate! Also excited for the later park hours which means alot less rushing around! Since I've never been to the parks for E-nights, can you explain what they are? I know they are hard ticket events, but that's about all I know! Thanks from Iowa

you get to stay in the MK for 3 hours after the park closes. the major rides(or good ones to me) are open. limited number of people can attend. we do all the E-tickets that are offered during our stay. not a bad investment(even if your not from Texas)

how do you know what days will be e-ride days? And is there a list somewhere of what's open? specifically, my DS thinks it's cool to ride Haunted Mansion at night, the later the better!

Historical data on dates and info on rides is at allears

http://www.allearsnet.com/tp/etik.htm

The current list as of 10/03:

Space Mountain
Splash Mountain
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Buzz Lightyear
Haunted Mansion
Astro Orbiter
Tomorrowland Transit Authority
Country Bear Jamboree

Substitution of attractions sometimes occurs.

I think you need to stay onsite to be able to buy these.

Count another Texas being at WDW in late May/June.
I was thinking the weather would be similar to here so it is good to hear the confirmation.
We can handle the heat, right? After all, we are used to it.

:wave2:
I wonder if all the Texans in WDW have anything to do with our school year.
Oh, yes!::yes::
That has a lot to do with it. You are done by mid May, right??
I have a brother that lives in Grand Prairie and they always plan their vacations the first week of June.

In the north most schools have gone to having a longer Christmas break and a winter break (usually in Feb.)....mainly because of the weather. They look at it 2 ways.....saving $$ on the heating bills in the schools and......lots of people love winter sports, that is when they go skiing, etc.
and then there is NJ...who is out for a week in Nov.

Most schools here in Ohio go untill around June 10.
Just happens that we are out on June 3rd.:teeth:
Which means we can beat the crowds by about a week.
We love going that time of year! warm enough to enjoy the pools, but not unbearable like it gets in July and August.
And the crowds are just starting to really grow......between June 12 and the 25th, you can really notice day by day the crowds get bigger and bigger!!:hyper:

not from texas but we'll be there june 4-11th! it's our first trip as DVC owners :teeth:

we normally go in the very off season (sept, nov, jan) so i like hearing about crowd levels.

see ya there!
