***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

Ok does anyone know about santa goofy? I thought I read that he meets at AK. Is that all through December or just after Christmas like at Disney Springs? And if all of December, where is he? I can't find a lot of info. WDW info just says that santa goofy meets at Animal Kingdom. Kenny's character locator has him in Dinoland today from 10-6 but don't know if that is just today only. I've never used that site so don't know if it's accurate or consistent.
Kenny the Pirate should be accurate. I've checked a few times and it has always been in Dinoland with Pluto. But I hear lines grow long quickly so you should line up a little before 10am if ever. :)

Is anyone else having last minute panic stuff? I feel so unprepared! I've got Saturday totally booked off to just do packing and trip organizing stuff. It's SO OVERWHELMING! I haven't even written out my day by day plans yet and next week being my last week before I leave has suddenly filled up with work stuff!
I'm panicking too. :scared1: I leave in 6 days now and I feel like I have a ton of stuff to do still, laundry and packing... and more packing... I'm so afraid it'll be too warm or too cold and can't decide what to bring.:scratchin I feel like I have not looked well enough into touring plans too. Work will get a lot busier in the next few days and I have a dinner tonight too with my coworkers! :faint:

Thanks, candycane. Not sure we will get to see him then. My touring plan doesn't have us in dinoland until 4:30. Maybe we'll get lucky and it won't be so crowded at the end of the day. If not, c'est la vie!

6 days til we go too. Planning to pack Sunday bc I'm working 10am-9pm Mon and Tues....we leave Weds! Yippee! I'm usually a last minute packer so will be odd to do it ahead. Weather for Orlando showing mid-70s for our days. I'm good with that, I know it'll be warmer than Boston!

Last year we went Thanksgiving Week and saw Santa Goofy and Pluto in Dinoland.

Happy Thanksgiving!! pooped, but had a good day.

My nephew was surprised!! seems excited but he is a pretty subdued person. my sister and I sorted through all of the SOTMK cards and have extras! @Lisa F, I got your address. I know someone else wanted some too, but I forgot who it was!! PM me your child's name and address!!

My dad really shocked me today at Thanksgiving. He pressed $60 into my hand and told me it was for something extra at Disney! So... $60 isn't a lot of money for a family of 6 at Disney, but I'd love to find something fun and special to do with it rather than just have it go a little here and a little there, kwim?

Any ideas? I thought about ice cream at Ample Hills. I wonder if it could pay for bowling at Splitsville? Or maybe a movie? I don't know though, those things seem kind of bland for a Disney trip - we can do both back at home! I guess it could pay for half a breakfast at Captain's Grille or something along those lines.

I'm open to ideas!

What a wonderful thing for your dad to do. Whatever you decide to do, might I suggest skype or FaceTime him for a minute or two while your doing it. We've done this whenever a grandparent wanted to treat us to any sort of "extra" and they always seem to enjoy seeing their grandchildren smiling and enjoying life.

Edit to add: As you say, $60 isn't a lot of money for a family of 6. But I just wanted to say that in my opinion, $60 is a sweeter gesture than if it were $600 or $6000.

Definitely! Mom and Dad don't have a lot of money, so this was a pretty grand gesture from him. :)

Oh! I just thought of one... we could rent one of those Surrey Bikes at AoA! I think they even have them for 6 people. That's the type of thing I'm trying to think of. I'll keep that one in the running, for sure.

That's so sweet of your parents. Here are some thoughts:

  • I like the surrey bike idea.
  • There's the fort wilderness wagon rides that $8 per adult and $5 per kid. Might be a fun way to explore that resort. https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/recreation/tri-circle-d-ranch/
  • The carriage ride at port Orleans is only $45 but the six of you can't go. You'd have to maybe send the kids. Same story with the fort wilderness sleigh rides but it's more expensive.
  • You could do miniature golf but it would cost more than $60 for all of you. https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/recreation/winter-summerland-miniature-golf/
  • Or you could get a couple of Mickey pants ice cream sundaes and share them at the plaza ice cream. You could always make some sort of planter out of the Mickey bowl and give them to your parents as a gift back to them along with pictures of you all enjoying the ice cream.
  • You could buy some photopass family photos if you aren't doing memory maker.

Thank you! I think it's made worse bc dd looks 10 (tall for her age). But she's got low muscle tone so long bouts of walking is a concern.

DS6 will start saying "My legs have no power" when he's getting tired. Lol. He will definitely use the stroller. I'd almost bet DS8 will jump in it too if he gets the chance and is tired....especially since we are doing mvmcp and will be staying up late. You'll be glad for the stroller. I prefer that to a miserable kid.

Yes, we leave in a week and I'm freaking out because I have so much to do!! I still haven't finalized our touring plans, packed, or written my "cheat sheet" stuff down. Feeling overwhelmed, especially because we're supposed to put up decorations this weekend too!

What a sweet gesture! I was going to suggest the Kitchen Sink at Beaches & Cream, or maybe an ornament for each of you to pick out.
