***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

Yup definitely mine too!

So far I have
Cronut ala mode
Karamel kuche
France bakery
France ice cream shop
Italy gelato place
Germany salted caramel drink
Kringla (Norway bakery)
Margarita from la cava
Flavoured popcorn
Any holiday treats?

Did I miss anything? @Talby @LBlovesM&WDW

I think this looks good until they come out with this year's offerings ;)

I haven't contributed much towards the Epcot discussion; I think partly because I'm bitter about right now not having enough time there scheduled :), but also because there have been so many changes since I've been as a kid, that I know I've mentioned I'm nervous about it!! You've all reassured me that its just as magical as it always was, and it's even better :) so I figured I'd list some things I remember SO VIVIDLY from visiting Epcot during elementary school. I know a lot of people say the ws isn't too interesting for kids, but there are some cool details I think kids notice more so than adults sometimes!

( not that anyone really cares about these things, but I'm just really excited about going back after reading all of these wonderful reminders and fun new additions :wizard: And I wanted to contribute somehow! :D

- laughing in the older Mexico boat ride (" please keep your hands and arms inside the boat until it makes a complete stop at the dock") and being mesmerized by the gorgeous backdrop in the restaurant
- wanting to buy my souvenirs from the gift shop in Japan. It was always so exciting watching someone go for a pearl!!!
-pretending I knew what I was saying during the Biergarten toast "Zicke, zacke , zicke , zacke hoi hoi hoi! :drinking1
-trying to figure out if the troll dolls/ statues at the Norway pavilion gift shop were actually cute and cultural or just really hideous.
-being amazed at the unique ornate details and architecture at the Morocco pavilion. The colors and smells and gift shops really make you feel like you're in another world!
- always wondering what mysteries lied beyond the French pavilion.... Don't think we ever got through the very end of the ws, or if we did pass through, we were always too tired to stop. ( sorry UK and Canada :()

I didn't even know this existed! What an awesome birthday present. It's great when the changes actually work in your favor for a change.

I had to go look it up of course and DH walked by and after seeing the look on my face said "What are you reading?" He looked over my shoulder and said "No! You can't do it all in one trip." I said "That's a very good point. I guess we should think about scheduling our next Disney trip." :p

It IS a refreshing change of pace! We were also eyeing the Aqua Tour pretty intently. I think that looks amazing. You know, for the next trip! :)

@Lisa F It sounds like you had quite a weekend. Yay for G's catch, but yuck on the lick!

@Talby Woohoo for getting the gift your daughter really wanted--I'm sure you'll have a blast!

@rasadkowski If you are planning to RD or be pretty early at AK, couldn't you do just do those attractions and FP Mk from 4-7?
Yes!? I have no idea why I didn't even think of that. I swear, my brain is mush. :upsidedow

I haven't even thought of snacks. Ive got two character meals at Epcot in one day; been too consumed with that. Don't know where I'll be able to put all those yummy snacks you all are talking about!
Yup.. Akershus and biertgarten for us too; same day; still getting snacks. And it's simple! There's always a seperate area there for sweets! :teeth:

Me too!! I was thinking about just ordering a couple of apps and an order of fried chicken then dessert! The reviews of the chicken dish looks good but huge! ;)

This is from the other post, but we talk about whatever here, so I brought it over.
We are going to split the fried chicken, maybe add a side or some fried green tomatoes and then dessert. For some reason, people haven't reviewed the hummingbird cake, but that thrills me more than the moonshine pound cake.

I was thinking of the jasper board, chicken and dumpling soup (for my 2 year old), fried chicken and the hummingbird cake :) the fried green tomatoes sounds good me too but might be too much... I like the description of the hummingbird cake better too and I thought that was supposed to be the 'signature' desert? :confused3

Are the lines for Aladdin usually long? Would it be better to FP splash mountain instead? I think for the railroad, I asked which direction it goes and I think Mal said it goes clockwise? I hope I'm remembering correctly but if that's the case then I think you can take it from adventure land to tomorrowland. :) I think your plan looks great though! Lots of action and yet lots of laid back attractions too to give yourselves a rest. Oh yeah I meant to ask, no space mountain and tiki room?

When I put it in TP, it had a 16 min wait, I think because it's like the old Dumbo ride where you have to wait and stop for each "round". So I figure if I can SDFP it for that time, I've got a good likelihood of getting it because I don't think it will be a huge seller, you know? If it does have a long wait and I can't get an SDFP for it, we'll skip it and do it during one of our other partial MK days. I left Space Mountain off, because I've only done it once on my last trip, and I didn't know what to expect. It scared the crap out of me being in total darkness! I know DH won't do it, but I left it open because I may decide to do it if I get up the courage. ::yes::
Also, I *really* don't like Tiki Room. I don't think DH liked it (or maybe he did), but I'm not reminding him in case he does want to do it. :rotfl2:

The train does have a stop in Frontierland, but I don't remember if it goes all the way to Tomorrowland...I know it stops in Fantasyland though. I figured we'd grab a Dole Whip and take a little bit of a leisurely walk to Main Street Station, which is why I built in the little break. Or we could take the train over that way; guess it depends how we feel. I need to have a plan, but also want to make sure I have time built in to slow down a bit or allow for some degree of spontaneity. :)
Thanks for chiming in! :thumbsup2

Hello! Crazy weekend, found out my 88 year old grandma fell and is now in the hospital and will be discharged to a nursing home. She also has alzheimers that is unfortunately making her deteriorate quicker than we had anticipated. So, in light of that, the girls and I will be traveling to Arizona, in two weeks to visit her and say our first/last goodbyes (she's never met DD2). :( It's been super difficult and even harder on my mom. This upcoming trip is needed even more now.

I saw that Disney made some park hours changes so I need to read up on that. Can't believe its Monday, tomorrow! Ugh, back to the grind.

Hope everyone is well. :)

Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear that :(
I hope you and the girls have a nice visit with her and get to say your goodbyes, but geez that's got to be tough. I'm glad you at least have a happy event (Disney) to look forward to.

I just want to give a shout out to thank @SilSprBea for helping me get my last ADR!! She saw something on a FB group she belongs to, and let me know about it. The lady dropping it and I just made a successful transfer so I got my 12/6 H&V F! dinner
It's a little earlier than I would like at 3:40 (would prefer closer to 5), but I'm SO glad I have this now! I'll keep looking randomly for something to pop up for the time I'm looking for, but if not this is still such a weight off my shoulders! I am so thankful for this thread!

Off to bed, but hope everyone has a good Monday tomorrow :)

I'm so sorry to hear about your grandma. Sending virtual hugs!

@pigletgirl I'm so sorry that your grandma is in such pain. Alzheimers is such an awful disease for the patient and the family members. Depending how far along the disease has progressed, it could be extremely difficult for your daughters, so be prepared for that. hugs
