***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

Ok so regarding character meals-

I see a ton of threads saying meals will be 2 credits starting in October. I have a lot of skepticism about that, it just doesn't seem like it would make sense for Disney.

I still haven't cancelled the DDP, now that I cut my table service meals down to 5 I may just keep it and pay OOP for one. Not sure yet, need to do the math.

Just curious if you guys think this will happen?

I haven't seen that about 3 credits in October... just the "glitch" where they made CM dinner, TH lunch and dinner and Akershus lunch and dinner 2 credits.

I think that anyone who has ADRs and has purchased the dining plan will be grandfathered in. I can't see them taking people's money on one premise and then changing it that radically and dealing with the outcry. Although they do have tiered pricing for holidays so if anything I think it may be for thanksgiving and christmas that they make it 2TS and then maybe for 2017 they will be 2TS. of course all of that is pure speculation - I do not have any of those particular meals planned. Breakfasts are already not considered a good deal on DDP for what they cost so I doubt it will be ALL character meals are 2TS.

I still haven't paid for DDP, i was waiting to see where I was with ADRs before committing.

I am good on ADRs though and will probably go ahead and pay for that soon. It is my last big thing to pay for.

"I listened to the Dis Unplugged podcast yesterday. Pete Werner, the site owner, feels pretty confident that this will be happening in October. I would think they would also go to 2 credits on the dining plan."

I just copy and pasted that from another thread. It's about all character meals going to $60. Some think they will stay one credit, some think 2- which again, doesn't make sense to me for Disney to do that, it would be discouraging people to purchase the DDP, not encouraging it. Think this is purely a rumor? If they do all go to $60, but stay one credit, then I definitely won't cancel the DDP.

it's going to make the character breakfasts hard to get. that's just lunch and dinner? Everyone has a bunch of confirmations stating 1TS so my guess again is if you are reserved under the old system they will grandfather it in. But I don't know for sure.

Do you know the latest date that I can cancel the DDP? Like I said, I'm undecided if keeping it and am just too lazy to do the math right now. If all character meals go to $60 but remain one credit, then it's a no brainer to keep it.

no idea about when you can cancel.

It appears that as of this morning, several character dining restaurants at Walt Disney World have gone up in the number of Disney Dining Plan credits required to book them. Chef Mickey’s, Akershus, and Tusker House are now listed as 2-credit meals instead of the one credit that was previously listed. Chef Mickey’s lists one credit for lunch and two credits for dinner; Akershus and Tusker House list two credits for both lunch and dinner.

Some posters online are reporting that when they called and asked Disney about it, they were told it is a computer glitch and the restaurants will remain one credit meals, but it’s unclear whether that is actually the case or not.

It is also being reported that pricing may be going up to as much as $59.99 for all three restaurants, beginning October 2. Prices at the Disney restaurants generally change seasonally, so depending on the date, the range now appears to be $35-$59.99.

Presumably, people who had booked these restaurants at the previous price will still have that price honored, but that remains to be seen.

Thanks. So basically no one knows.lol I believe the 2 credits was a glitch. Guess I'll just wait and see with the pricing, I'll call my TA and ask here the cutoff point for cancelling.

I am worried about the 2 credit thing, especially with the dining packages. They did change Le Cellier mid year apparently. But we'll see. It's all speculation at this point. It is bound to happen, the question is when.

But does anyone remember if they honored previous reservations for Le Cellier at 1TS? that is the real question.

Ok so I have my plans... But am thoroughly confused about some things (I confused myself, LOL)

Dec 3 (moving from Universal)
Dinner: Tusker House 3:25 (too early and hoping for ROL package)

Dec 4
Brunch: California Grill 10am
Dinner: Narcoosee's 7:15pm

Dec 5
Breakfast: Garden Grill 10:10am
Dinner: Minnie's Holiday Dine 4:25pm (hoping for F!)

Dec 6 (move from AKL to CR)
Breakfast: Tusker House 9:45 (if ever if becomes 2 credits for L/D)
or Lunch: Yak & Yeti 11:30am
Dinner: STK 6:30pm

Dec 7
Breakfast: Cape May (8:10am)
Dinner: EPCOT undecided- hoping for Coral Reef

Dec 8
Breakfast: Kona 9:35am
Dinner: Ohana 3:30pm (same as @Lisa F but thinking BOG would be better if available)

Dec 9
Lunch: T- Rex 11am (would change this to Florida Homecoming Kitchen maybe?)
Dinner: Tiffins 4:35pm (second chance for ROL if ever)

Dec 10
Breakfast: Crystal Palace 8:40am
Dinner: Ohana 5:10pm OR BOG 7:30pm (depends if I find BOG for Dec 8)

Dec 11
Lunch: Biergarten 12nn
Dinner: 50s 5:50 (not sold on this)

Dec 12 (home)
Breakfast: Chef Mickeys 7:30am (MK for an hour or so then leave)

On our last night, I'm thinking that if there's a dessert party at DHS, it might be a nice way to end the trip... or go to Flying Fish for dinner? What do you guys think about all of it?

Unless they completely change the Dining Plans I just don't see the bump to 2 credits happening for all. The meal price increase seems more realistic-(and is what I'm so curious about and directly impact my decision to keep or cancel the DDP), If that happens then it would make sense that the dining plan price would raise as well- that part doesn't concern me, we would all be grandfathered in.

I'm wondering if they are changing the DDP credits for 2017. They just announced that booking for 2017 packages will start on June 21. That way they have notified people before they make their ADRs for 2017.

But with all the changes they have made to pricing this year I can also see them changing it for this year - or at the very least for the holidays.

Looks great!

Te DHS Star Wars desert party has me so torn. I don't think it can be done if you are also attending fantasmic :( I still don't know the logistics of leaving the amphitheater and then watching the fireworks afterwards.
If Fantasmic isn't important to you then definitely do it!

I know for sure that Thanksgiving and Christmas have different pricing/credits. That's what my TA was told by a Disney rep anyway.

I have F! for Dec 5 so I think I should be ok... :) The only thing is availability... and I might have to move Biergarten to another day. :)

Then do it for sure!

I've tried to look at my plans and see if we can do 2 evenings at DHS, but with CP it just doesn't work. I don't think me or my kids cares about another fireworks show (we have them nightly at our theme park here).. But these are STAR WARS fireworks, and I have a Star Wars obsessed kid, so I have to figure out something, even if that means leaving Fantasmic a few minutes early. But that's his fave show, so we'll see. One way or another we will see them.lol

I'm a TA as well and it seems every time someone calls, they get a different answer. I haven't seen anything official from Disney yet - but then again, I don't have any clients on the Dining Plan this fall so I haven't been looking for it!

OMG that's crazy that Akershus would be going for $60! For that price I can book CRT! Now I'm wondering if I should add the dining package just in case. We're doing a TS meal every day, but I'm someone who tends to eat 2 appetizers instead of a main and DH and I normally split a dessert. Still, if prices are going up that much?! THough that makes Akershus a bad value on the plan...but makes my BOG reservations AWESOME.

Yes I have heard that you can watch both F! and the fireworks on the same day, just not the dessert party. I would love to attend CP but with a 2 year old and a very disinterested DH, that won't be in the plans for the next few years. Unfortunately, with 2 nights at DHS, we would probably just go to EPCOT one night.
