***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

Lots of spots to watch the parade though.... I think @LBlovesM&WDW mentioned it's a really nice view across the Christmas shop since the road becomes narrow there. I'm debating whether I would watch there or by the Country Bears :) If you don't like the menu, I would not do the package, especially since you're not on the dining plan yet then?

I have watched the afternoon parade across from and in front of LTT, on Main Street in several places and in Liberty Square in front of and across from the Christmas store. By far, the best position was across from the store. I also wouldn't give up the LTT OGTC for the likes of Tony's.

I am certainly not offended...DD's pick, not mine. The only positive for me is GF pasta. Thinking of just sharing calamari (which is gf) and salad, and DD can have flatbread pizza. Last time we went to MK, we only ate QS...so I'm thinking this is a step up. Breakfast at Sleepy Hallow, BoG lunch, Tony's for dinner--small dinner, and Mickey Pants sundae at 10...that's our plan.

Any plan ending in Mickey Pants Sundae works for me!
it is supposed to be one of the most beautiful restaurants. the kiddo though... he doesn't eat red sauce so he'd end up eating pasta and butter. I don't like using that option if I don't have to... he'd do much better at LTT.

I am thinking of just going for broke and ordering the adult pork at BoG which is what I really want to try and trying to moderate my food intake a bit at the other two meals (and that). we will share a cupcake, I just want a bite.

eta: i found a post saying they will NOT modify at BoG beyond what options you are given because of how big the restaurant is. So if I want the pork as served to an adult I have to order the adult. why not get what I want? it's vacation lol. reviews are also saying portions are not huge - not sharable sizes (except for sandwiches).

Good to know! I planned to share a braised pork with DH.

@JamieOak I've been meaning to reply to your message a while ago. I feel that it's more important to feel comfortable than wear Disney shirts. I pretty much will bring non-Disney clothing along, too.

I will say I think I have overdone it this trip with their Disney clothes and have buyer's remorse now. :faint: But I think I will wear it again on normal days... some days, fingers crossed... LOL!

haven't you been there for lunch or just dinner? the portion sizes look shareable to me but I have read they aren't really... the sandwiches look plenty big to share too. maybe shareable with a soup and a cupcake (not sandwiched between two other meals). back in the day i'd always err on the side of sharing knowing you could always get more or a snack or whatever if you really wanted it and I never really did. But by myself with picky kiddo if I share it will be plain turkey sandwich and fries for me. Not exactly my thing so I'll just order what we both want and damn the cost! and leave what we don't feel like eating :)

I also agree that it's best to look and feel good. I have 3 shirts that are a little smaller than I'd like and I'm not too sure if I want to wear them. I think it will be on a day by day basis (we all know how that is trying something on one day and hating the way it looks the next).

I ate lunch there last year and don't recall feeling particularly stuffed at the end. It was no problem at all to eat dessert when we were done, but we hadn't really had much for breakfast so... :confused3.

Yes, 4 years ago... not really sure I remember how big it was but I thought the pork was shareable... then again, not sure if this is still the same as back then. I think it's a good idea to just order and if you don't feel like it, it's a vacation. :) For me... I can't pre-order until tomorrow... I'll probably stick with the pork for DH, soup for me and a kid's meal for DS. I can pick on DH's and DS's plates if ever.

I found calorie counts for it and it's under 500 calories for the braised pork. that can't be a ginormous portion as it's twice a typical lean cuisine and it must not go super light on the fat (which adds calories without a lot of bulk.. like butter in mashed potatoes or whatever). So I will just order what I want I guess and see how it goes. I think the turkey sandwich looks bigger.

Very much agree with this. :thumbsup2 I'm thinking I'm very paranoid now and feel I need to cool it on my packing list. It's not like I can't get stuff at Disney. :rotfl:

i'm sure there will be plenty to pick off of kiddo's plate. i thought about just a soup for me and having half of his turkey sandwich but honestly it does not appeal, lol. I wanted to try the pork.

You're making me want to order 2 pork dishes! :rotfl2: Since we're talking about this, I just looked at the kid's menu and think I will order the grilled shrimp for DS... Really hope they would keep the peach applesauce separate though.

yes all of the pics show it in a little dish.

you can pick two sides with any of the meals, it seems like the sides for kids are: what comes with it by default, fries, cookie, applesauce. (so broccoli for the shrimp, green beans and mashed potatoes that can be subbed for fries, cookie, applesauce with the pork, etcetc).

Hm, I could not find any pics of the kids meals! If I could sub the applesauce, I totally would...

I was going to make them for everyone going on 12/3!!! I bought the lanyards and some other items to put them together, but need to create the actual namecards. I know we have a 12/3 list going so I'll need help finding that when I'm ready.

:santa::santa::santa::santa::santa:

Aww, that's awesome!!! Thank you for thinking of all of us! :grouphug:

Rough day for me too. I was up too late, kiddo was up at 5:30am and when he heard the results was sobbing that "hate won" and worried that segregation would come back. Long difficult conversation with him this morning, I am exhausted and the day has not even started. I wish I had the time to take off today, I want to crawl in bed and not come out again.
That makes me so sad. :sad2:

Hi, all. I'm now sick and working on my touring plans as a distraction. We're doing a Tusker House lunch at AK, but I'd been planning for a quick service dinner at Yak & Yeti before River of Lights. However, since I'm highly skeptical of that and ready to move on, I'm thinking a quick service dinner at Restaurantosaurus will be better for us since our plan at the moment ends in Dinoland. Have any of you eaten there or have any feedback on it? It's certainly not as interesting as Yak & Yeti Marketplace, but it looks decent from the menu on the Disney website. I see the kids meals come with a bucket and pail-- is that for them to play in the boneyard???

Oh no, I'm sorry you're sick!! At least I keep thinking it's better now than at Disney!

Ugh, feeling rough this morning. Had a hard time falling asleep because of my cough and election anxiety, then this morning I've gotten sick twice. I'm taking an hour lunch and laying down now...my head is spinning and trying to keep the little bit of water I had down. I really want to decorate my MB tonight...not sure if I can muster it though.

also it's very subjective. People get really weird about portion sizes. I remember this one woman saying 1CS fed her family of 4 and how big american portion sizes are and how she feeds her whole family of 4 with under 1/2 lb of meat at home. I always count on losing about 1/4 to water weight so basically she is feeding a family of 4 on 6oz of cooked protein... to me that is very extreme in that direction and not particularly useful. I do think that in general disney portion sizes are pretty large but i have been reading that BoG is not very large... so whereas you could easily feed 2 on many CS options, I don't think you can count on that at BoG, esp if one person is a man. I do think though that a couple of soups and a shared meal would do it just fine... or if you have a soup and graze a bit from DS it is prob fine too... that's sort of what I planned but again not want I want to eat, just most practical/economical. I could easily share a turkey sandwich and fries portion wise with kiddo, half a sandwich is plenty for both of us and it looks like a mountain of fries. I just don't want to eat a plain turkey sandwich when there are other lovely things to try. I just need to have some self control and not eat past the point of satisfaction at breakfast and lunch, lol. We are doing breakfast almost daily so it might be easier than I think by the last character meal!

True... It is very subjective. Oh well, I guess we will all see when we get there. I do have a TS breakfast and a TS dinner so I feel the sharing will be fine. :) Plus there's always the many snack credits I need to finish. :D

As for your order, I feel you should just order what you want to eat. It's not especially expensive and if the portion sizes are regular (not overly large like a regular CS), you probably will not leave more than half of it. It's probably better you order something you like than something you know you would be 'meh' about.
