***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

No problem! I'm getting a little stressed right now though reading about all the ressies people haven't been able to get. Yikes.
for whatever it's worth a lot of the pressure that free dining is putting on the ADRs is not nearly as bad the later in the week you get. I had no problem getting what I wanted and my worst time deviations from my first choice were beginning of the week. I think it is free dining that is giving people problems right now. So have hope that you will get most of what you want.

exception to the rule is Ohana dinner. That seems downright impossible. everything else, even BoG dinner, was easy for me to get.

I will be on a cruise 6/26-7/2. Please tell me that I won't miss any packages being released!

I am NOT checking or even thinking about anything Disney related while on that trip.

I was really hoping to have everything out of the way and shelf this planning until right before FP selection time.
I don't think the packages go THAT super quick. I think right now free dining is making things more difficult - there are so many restaurants and so many times for CP and the hardest to get (le cellier) does not participate.

@Lisa F could you go back to your plan of Ohana dinner through room service if you can't get the reservation? It sounds like you didn't do too badly and I'm sure things will open up.

What's the strategy? Check daily for openings?

Also, I signed up for the touring plans notice and am watching the Dec cancelled thread on this board.

I signed up for the touring plans notice and am watching the Dec thread also. Also random checks yourself throughout the day. That's about it for your choices.

Now that I got the BoG I'm not sure how I feel about giving it up on party night. Kiddo is not that interested but he went with his dad and had a bad experience at lunch (his dad didn't realize you could preorder so line to check in, line to order, got a table but food never came and took 3 CMs 45 mins to resolve - hoping dinner would be much better). I'm kind of hoping I can squeeze in Ohana on another night - going to grab that 12/3 5:25 for now even though I was planning on RoL that day... not even sure if it will be open or what the deal is with it so I need to leave my dining options open lol. I have parkhoppers so could go back one night just for the show and would probably blow a FP on it!

My oldest is 7 and will be almost 8 when we go. My youngest is 5 months and will be almost 1 when we go. We're staying at Port Orleans Riverside this time. I've learned through several trips with my older daughter that the more you can relax and go with the flow, the happier your trip will be. We decide on where we want to eat and we each have a couple must dos in each park, then after that we play it by ear depending on crowds, moods, etc. It was hard at first to change my mindset from the Go Go Go it used to be, but honestly we have much happier trips now.
I'm still learning so this trip will be a major milestone :P hopefully we would have a happy trip... And happy campers. Today I just lost my battle with DS2, he just didn't want to sit in his chair and eat, didn't want to drink milk and cried for almost an hour...
:faint::faint::faint: He just went for his nap now and sniffling so about 15 more mins... I sure hope it won't be like this on our trip or it would be frustrating.

Congrats on finding a 5:25 Ohana!:cheer2: Hopefully you would find a better one but at least you would an option!

with a 2 year old you just have to be flexible. That is hard with ADRs but honestly since the 2 year old is not costing anything to eat, I would just make sure he is grazing throughout the day. at that age crankiness is usually a cause of: Hunger, tiredness, discomfort in some way. you know his nap schedule, and if you make sure you keep hunger at bay you should be ok.

I don't have it yet. I decided to take that nice lady who offered to transfer it for 12/3 up on it. depending on the RoL showtimes I could potentially still do the show after, just take a break from the park. If not I can maybe do it another night on a fastpass.

Yes, FP+ makes flexibility a little bad too. speaking of ADRs and flexibility, anyone has experience changing a reservation on the same day? Is there any way to get around the no show charge? I think it's hard since I want ADRs to make sure we have some place to eat comfortably with DS2 but there's a chance he would be like today where he's totally uncoorperative...

Oh that's nice! Hopefully it'll be available! :)

with my kiddo I changed some FP+ on the app when I needed to. Except for the HARDEST to get, i didn't have any problem changing things on the fly to fit my needs at the time. I considered nothing a serious must do though, not even the mine train. Flexibility about rides is key too :)

you can change day of - you can check the app to do it. There are some great choices that are available day of so you don't lose your dining credits... you should have a list ready. The filet at the wave is EXCELLENT. it was one of my favorite meals. GF Cafe, Captains Grille, Kona Cafe - all of those second tier restaurants at deluxe seem to have availability on short notice (maybe Kona a bit less)

Oh that's nice! Hopefully it'll be available! :)
who knows what is even going on with that show to be honest. I would like to do it but AK is not my favorite anyway so we'll see. I'll just need to be flexible. I would rather do Ohana than Yak n Yeti. Yak n Yeti gets great reviews but I got really sick there last time I was there (7 years ago though lol). I don't think it it was the food, I think it was dehydration (I was nursing) but projectile vomiting honey chicken and broccoli so hard in your shower that you feel like you've been beaten with a baseball bat leaves an impression. But Tiffin's menu didn't really thrill me either so I took the Yak and Yeti dinner. If there are any late nights at AK it will prob be saturday night so I am hoping I can do breakfast package at Tusker House, dinner at 5:25 at Ohana and then back for the show (if they even run it). right now they are running the jungle book show at 9 and 10:30. Not sure what will be in december but 9pm would be ok with that time ohana.

Ok all,

I feel like I need to say this after reading so many posts/threads from June travelers who are pretty much freaking out!

Let's all prepare ourselves that Disney could and probably will change a few hours during days of our trips.
So, if you get that pre park opening adr, or if you set your fast pass at a certain time- know that it could change your plans a little, and that we won't be able to do anything about it.

I know that from everything I've read lately- I am definitely planning on something changing right before my trip. At least I won't be shocked when it happens :)

I try very very hard to ride the line between planning what I want and flexibility in between. It's tough lol

Extremely tough!!!!

I know we're all stressed out about dining packages etc.. But IF park hours change, I'll actually be happy. It worries me about fitting "everything" in during the short hours at that time of year (hence the booked tour that I'm now questioning lol), but I just have to tell myself that given the content on these boards lately- things will most likely change during our trips as well.

looking at the crowd calendar I am thinking of switching my Epcot and HS days (5th and 6th). was hoping to be in Epcot for the merry member mixer for DVC but not if it's gonna be a red day :-p argh too many decisions lol

For those of you with upcoming ADR dates - my advice is if you can't book through the website - try the app! I wasn't able to book anything via the website, but got everything via the app. Website kept giving me the PAWS message.

the app will not let me see the +10 days. tried that.

but I said earlier I was watching availability change... it wasn't, I didn't realize it was showing me June 4 instead if December 7 for narcoossees. I'd expect less availability!

Lol with a 2 year old and Disney, I would just have to accept nothing will go my way /P
