***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

It's so funny that you're all talking about seat cushions because I was definitely just on Amazon looking at some! I didn't buy one yet, but I am considering it. I anticipate some long waits for the MVMCP parade and plan to camp out for a good spot for Illuminations on Saturday night.

Ha ha. I did not check for larger sizes. That's a subject I stay away from with DW.

I'm sort of in prep. mode right now so I've been looking for little things that might make our trip a little more enjoyable. Which reminds me......are any of you guys planning on bringing Holiday decorations for your resort room windows? Was thinking maybe a couple small strands of lights and some suction cups. Would love to get one of those small Christmas trees DW offers but my jaw dropped when I saw the prices so that's out!

Window decorations?? I'm planning on bringing a whole tree! :santa: I have a 3 or 4' mini tree I plan to bring in our luggage. DH keeps saying "No absolutely not", but we both know he isn't going to be doing any of the packing. :rolleyes1

So cool! You just reminded me of the small tree DD8 requested for her bedroom a few years ago. It's in our attic now and she usually sets it up every Dec. in her room. We even have unbreakable ornaments to go with it! It's about a 3-4' tree also. Gonna have to see if it fits in one of our suitcases. This just might work!!! Thanks Griswald!!! :santa:

No problem, glad to help! We are pretty crazy with our Christmas decorations sometimes. We have a music box that makes the lights on the house dance to the music. I don't think our neighbors at the BWVs would appreciate it if we brought that though! :earseek: So I'll stick to the tree, some strands of lights, and maybe a few misc items for the room.

A post from the Rumors of Light thread:

Here are some first-hand intel reports posted on the News Round Up thread today:

In AK right now and they are installing the rope que lines for ROL theater "just to make sure it's ready" for the show, but they have "no idea" when it will be running.

For sure! I just got a kick out of the fact that they were rehearsing setting up the line! I'm highly suspicious that they are doing something very soon. Lots of managers and people dressed in all black walking around the ROL area. Can't say for sure if that is an everyday occurrence but it seems odd to me.

Sorry for the barrage of posts. They are testing the water for the screens, the lotus floats are currently out AND an EE CM just said to his coworker "I'm working rivers tonight. I get to see the show though." So I think the show is very close.

ETA: Take this with a hefty helping of salt, but my DH says 3 CMs told him they've been told ROL hard deadline is Saturday.

Just saw this too and was wondering how to post it! Lol

All the speculation is starting to get the best of me. Apparently there are many that have been waiting for new Disney Visa offers that were released today but only bookable if you call in and book with a CM over the phone. The DW website is "supposed" to go live with this offer on Oct. 3rd. Many are speculating that DW will also add a schedule for ROL on Oct. 3rd as well

I AM SUCH A SUCKER FOR ANY MORSEL OF INFO. RIGHT NOW THAT I WILL PROBABLY BELIEVE ANYTHING. SOMEONE TALK ME DOWN!!!!!

I just did a copy/paste. Kind of Busch league on my part. Could have brought the exact image over here and perhaps the link to that thread but I'm sure everyone on this thread has been stalking anything/everything ROL lately. LOL!
Lol! I couldn't copy and paste as well on my phone but been following that... wouldn't it be great to have ROL FPs by the time we book ours! Lol, I'm too optimistic on this...

do they have them in big butt size? :rotfl:the froggie green is $6 less. I don't remember the concrete ever being so cold that it made me chilled through my clothing in early december. I WAS at Epcot on one NYE when it was 29 degrees out and we bought a blanket at mexico to sit on. But in the 50's and 60's - I'm from new england and I'm insulated, especially back there.

I was wondering the same thing...definitely plenty of padding on my part too! :rotfl:

Yep, we're decorating our window :) I'm gathering ideas now...definitely some lights, and perhaps some non-breakable ornaments. Our normal Christmas tree at home is already Disney-themed and we're planning on setting it up before we go on vacation, so I won't be able to use any of those Disney ornaments. Although I do have the perfect tiny Mickey head ornaments in different colors that would be perfect to bring with. We'll see what I end up with. When we went one year in October we decorated for Halloween and Mousekeeping left us a special surprise every day :) I think it adds to the spirit!

I really hope so too !! I'm kinda hoping that they'll be released a bit later though .:) If they're out too soon ( for me at least, and you being 10/4 too!!)... I'd be nervous that they'd all be gone . I'm pretty nervous about getting fea, and I think I'd lose sleep worrying about RoL too! :faint:

I'm nervous too but I'm sure it'll be fine :) don't worry about ROL, we will basically be all on even ground on this ;)

I think the thing to remember is that us uber-planners only account for like 5% of the population at Disney World, so I have a feeling a lot of people won't even know about ROL, or won't think to use a FP+ for it. Although my FP+ day is October 3 (I think @Lisa F is doing hers that day too), so if they *are* going to open it up that day, I'm okay with it as long as it's before my 7am FP booking time!! ;)

I'm going to be in a real pickle with ROL FP.. I have one AK day planned on 12/3. That evening I our SW dessert party. I have 2 other evenings open for ROL but my FP are booked for other parks!!!

11/27 _ we have a 5:30 'Ohana after dinner is open for ROL or Illuminations. I could drop 'Ohana for a ROL dinner pakage ..

12/2 - same options open for evening activities

The rest of my evenings are booked! I could possibly do 12/5... If there is a late showing maybe 11/28 after fantasmic. But I don't see how I can get a FP! Unless it's on 12/3

@tacobelle :welcome:

I think this is so true about uber planners being in the minority. I never knew about planning for Disney before a friend told me it was a must, and I'm a planner. I just didn't know it was so necesary- it didn't used to be when I was younger.

My cousins are going to Disney this weekend for four days. I asked them last weekend what park they were going to do when and they hadn't even thought about it. They didn't even know about the MK closing early some nights for parties. They are meeting some friends there and I asked them what parks their friends were planning on. The response they got from their friends was "we don't care, you pick." They have no plan, no ADRs and no fast passes booked.

yes, we're the same date!

I am in a good position to book a RoL FP+ because the day I have planned for it is my morning EMH day at HS so I can do the Tier 1's I am interested in and SDFP everything else (availability is good on them usually) but I, too, am hoping for a late enough show as I have a 5pm CA Grill and would need like an 8pm show to make it work. hoping.

I've now planned 3 trips. There is a huge part of me that would love to not plan anything. I don't think it's wrong for them not to book anything in advance. Many people find the elusive ADR's on the day of, because of cancellations.

With us planners, any little tweak could through off our entire itinerary. Be prepared though, Disney did it to us last year, so I'm expecting it this time too. :P
