1st Week in May?

I think I posted this in the wrong place, so I'll repost.
I've been to WDW in Feb. '03, and it was pretty busy, although not unbearable. However, DH and I may be going this year for our 1st anniversary, which would be from May 1-May 7. How is it this time of year? I know it'll be hot, but how are the crowds?
We hope to stay at Pop Century too

I think that is the first week of the 50th celebration

so I expect it may be more crowded than it usually is that time

we are going the 6th thru the 14th....I hope its less crowded than it was the last weekend of may last year

I have never been in May before. But I will say that I am going this year for the 50th celebration. This is something that I wouldn't miss for the world. I would think others are thinking the same so the crowds might be bigger.

We'll be there May 1-8 as well, and normally it is a great time to go. This year may be a little different, May 5 is the kick-off for Disneyland's 50th Anniversary and all the parks are taking part in the celebration. The feeling I'm getting is that there will be a lot of media people there, we tried booking at the BWV and BCV, looking for a studio--all the studios are booked. We also tried booking at the WL and AKL--all standard rooms are gone. We got on-line and looked that the Yacht Club and Grand Floridian, those 2 resorts didn't even come up as being available for that week, so they may be booked as well. We ended up booking at SSR and the Swan, just to have something. I think it's going to be kind of busy that week.

Weather wise, May is perfect, warm (but not hot) and typically not a lot of rain fall. For the both of us, I hope it's not too busy that week.

Thanks for the tips, I didn't realize the 50th anniversary celebration was starting that week!
So do you think it'll be less busy going the week before?

nope. the last week of april is still busier with the end of spring breaks. usually the first 2 weeks of May are great, but the 05-05-05 celebration might bring in heavier crowds. but who knows?
