We will be taking our 10 yr old son to Universal for the first time - any suggestions on where to stay and what to do? Of course he loves Nickelodeon. We are flying in on Friday Evening and leaving Monday morning for Ft. Myers Beach so we won't have a lot of time. I would appreciate any suggestions :):

Stay at one of the onsite hotels so you have all day express access.

My vote is to stay on site!!! It's really worth it & it makes for a really memorable time.

As for what to do..........may I assume you're going to both parks ?
Don't really know what your son likes but at Studios Terminator 2-3-D is fantastic, & he would probably love the Wild, Wild Wild West stunt show. Don't forget Men In Black - thats always a hit.
As for Islands, don't know if he's ready for the roller coasters, but Spiderman can't , I repeat, CAN"T be missed - and I love Dudley Do-Rights Rip Saw Falls - a water flume ride that is SUPER fun. (but will get you wet!)
You will have a super time, I just know it !

There will be plenty for him to do and see he will love the nick charcters and dont forget shrek and jimmy neutron also in IOA u have the flyers and unicorn coaster which are a hit with my kids and woodys coaster at US:jester:

The Hard Rock would probably be the best place with their great slide and fun atmosphere. It is only a five minute walk from the parks. Give them a call and see what kind of discounts you can get. Many of the discounts, such as entertainment rate, probably aren't available yet, but you can ask. You should be able to get a standard room at HRH for about $125.
