This is more or less a pre-trip report.
First of all I want everyone who has ever posted on WDW to know how wonderful and helpful all of you have been to share your experiences. I do not know what I would have done without them. That being said, I will now introduce you to our group.

Myself- Mona age 49 - first timer to WDW (I know I'm getting a late start, but better late than never.) Planned trip spur of the moment at end of March when I had a bug in my...shorts to go on vacation. Did not know a lick about WDW other than its location and the fact that it was like our DL except larger. (Another bright idea of mine.)

DS- Jordan - 13 in one month (Please pray for me ! Seems the phone was invented just for him and the young ladies that call every 5 minutes. This child is so charming and handsome, but is still not packed. He may not make the trip. Oh well! GET OFF THE PHONE. I'm sorry, I've been yelling that for the last week so much so it just comes out automatically now.

- Tommy 0 over 50, way over but doesn't appear so (also 1st timer) w/ his DG (she is the only one in the group who has been to the World before) not really excited about going...wanted to do the cruise instead. Oh well, maybe next year.

My GF - Verna - a few years my junion w/ her two DS's Marcus who graduated grade school w/ Jordan, and Corbin 15 who acts more like my son. They are all 1st timers.
Verna's step-daughter will be joining us from Atlanta for a few days w/ her 13 y.o. DD. They just left WDW two weeks ago but she had her other two daughters w/ her. Coming back to help us find our way around.

As I mentioned earlier, I get this bug to go somewhere on vacation since Jordan and I have never really been anywhere together. I've either been back in college and working along w/ taking care of my mother. I actually attempted twice before to plan for this vacation prior to my mom passing, but it just wasn't in the cards. DS has been to N.Y. twice, Las Vegas several times, Grand Canyon, etc., all with friends while mom is home working to pay off the Dreamcast, PS2, Nikes, you get my drift. Oh yes, I am also a single mom, which I have to remind him of since he forgets from time to time each time a new version of some $180 tennis shoe hits the market. Whatever happened to Thom Mc Cann and Buster Brown shoes under $30 bucks ????

O.k., I do have a tendency to get longwinded and off topic often, but please bare with me...this seems to help calm my nerves.

In the past three months, I have logged more internet minutes, signd onto more discussion boards, read more about WDW (2 FROMMERS, 1 PASSPORTER) than I ever knew existed. I also invited the above mentioned people if they wanted to go with us when I first decided on goinng. NOPE, KNOWONE WAS INTERESTED. So I proceed on my merry way, researching my little fingers off on which resort, package deal, yada yada yada. Well, as luck would have it last month my DB's girlfriend gets a phone call reminding her that they have a four day vacation paid for at one of the Orlando hotels which will expire if not used w/in a certain date. O.k. now that I have spent hundreds of hours researching my tail off, guess who comes and says "hey, we'll go with ya". You guessed it. Now I have to do their stuff as well, because wh you ask? BECAUSE YOU ALREADY KNOW WHAT TO DO.
Arggggggggg. O.k., o.k., o.k. I'm calm now. Even though I asked a hundred times did you want to go, no. No Problem. Mother gets her fingers to working to find a good deal on airfare...which took them four days to figure out what time they wanted to leave. Oh, did I mention within this time period I got a second call from my DF Verna ? Now, She had been here doing the early stages of my planning. Saw all the material (two legal pads of notes, post-ems, etc. that I had. Even sat here next to me while on the computer while I tried to encourage her to come with the boys. She even went so far as to ask them if they were interested in going. Nope, said she couldn't afford it right now, maybe next year. Well, bet you guessed the rest. My research will cost next time around, just didn't think fast enough. We'll all have a great time together anyway. Jordan will be with his friends for a few days while I can hang out by the pool until they leave (maybe, have to keep an eye on the cell phones. I have threatened him about getting calls in Fl. from anyone but me...we'll see how that turns out.)
Thanks for bearing with me through today. I'll write upon return. Wish us, I should say me luck on our family's first trip to the WORLD.
