1st Trip To Por And Joining Dvc

Hi everyone,
We have just returned from our first trip staying at a Disney Resort. We stayed at POR in Oak Manor Room 9099 and were absolutely delighted with all aspects of our holiday.
I faxed the resort 4 days ahead of checking in and requested Oak Manor or Mansion Terrace and obviously got our 1st choice. The room was gorgeous and very spacious. We left a tip for the maid each day and she left little goody bags of soaps and shampoos for us to bring home.
POR is beautiful and so peaceful after a hectic day in the parks. We arrive on 28th Sept just a few days after hurricane Ivan so co sequently the resort and parks were very quiet for the first few days but they soon got busier. Even so the longest wait we had was 30 mins in Universal for Shrek 4D which has no express pass for it.
I don't think I can make one complaint about the holiday,everything was wonderful including the weather. We had 1 days rain for the whole 2 weeks!!
We went to Saratoga Springs (Vacation Club resort) to an 'Open House' to view the new resort and decide whether or not to join up. The resort and rooms were amazing and we signed up a few days later. We then we around to see all the other DVC resorts and they are all gorgeous.
All in all a fantastic holiday and I can't wait until the next one.

The last day of our first ever trip to WDW we brought in to DVC

Our home is the Boardwalk we have also stayed at OKW. The next trip includes VWL, BCV and BWV

Glad you had such a great time. We loved POR (we were there when it was good old Dixie Landings!) - it really is a beautiful place!

Congratulations on your DVC purchase. I bought an OKW resale nearly three years ago - I still find the whole idea SO exciting - and I haven't even stayed there yet!!!!! Not long now though!!

I saw the preview units when I was there last week and they are lovely. It's the only resort I haven't booked yet. We've stayed at all the rest and have Vero booked for next year!
