Daughter (13) and I are going to Germany for 10 days in June. We are taking a train from Germany to Paris and staying there for 3 nights. We are going to Disneyland Paris for 1 full day. :goodvibes Any suggestions and hints as to what are must sees in both park?? We are planning on visiting both parks in one day...may be a lot, but I have done 3 parks in one day in Florida. We are for sure going to stay in Paris for 2 nights....would it be worth it to stay near Disneyland for 1 night?? Any restaurants recommended?????? ANY help would be appreciated. I consider myself an expert of Walt Disney World, and often have friends and family ask me about there, but I do not know anyone that has been to Paris. :confused3

Also, what is the best way to order tickets??? Looking for 1 day ticket for both parks.

Thank you in advance for any help!!!! :wizard:

Hi Ajpopp,

We are also going to DLP for the first time in June! Excited :)

I would also love some advice about what are must see/do things and any restaurant recommendations.

xx

In June the parks will be open later and although I'm not sure how long the train would be back to Paris, it might be better to stay in Disneyland in order to win more time. Otherwise the train station is right there. With one day and two parks you'll want to eat on the go and not spend time in a sit down place, at least not until the parks are closed if you're like me :). Earls and Annette's are good choices in Downtown Disney, Annette's being a sit down restaurant.

I haven't been to the parks since 2007 but you know about fast pass right, and getting to the park when it opens? Disneyland is considered the most beautiful of the Disney parks so enjoy the details, fast pass the main attractions and maybe read the wiki article on the Phantom Manor for the backstory to that area, which really adds to the experience I think! Enjoy :thumbsup2!

Regarding tickets if your already in Paris isn't it best to pick up the Fransican (spelling) at a ticket office before you get there? I think that's supposed to be the cheapest option.

You got trains back to Paris until late - the last one is at 00h20 and gets to Chatelet -Les Halles at 01h01

Before that from 22h30 on you've got 22h46-23h01-23h16-23h46-00h00 and it takes 41 mins to Chatelet-Les Halles.

If you are wanting a Francilien ticket remember to buy it at least 5 days before otherwise they are not available

Have a look here at prices

Francilien tickets can be bought from the Fnac and you can either print the tickets off at home or pick them up once in Paris

Hth :)

Make sure you see the new nighttime show dreams - it looks like it is amazing. It will be on at park closing which in June will be 2230/2300.

It's weird when you're the one people usually call for Disney advice and now you're on the other end, isn't it? :) That said, I was in your shoes, and the best advice I can give (if you only have one day) is to get there early, fastpass what you can, and do those attractions unique to this park first (Tough for me, a Disney purist). Don't miss the Crush Coaster (dramamine not included btw) and Toy Story playland in the Studios. In the Magic Kingdom park, be sure to explore the whole castle--dungeon too--and enjoy it's detail. Phantom Manor is a can't miss if you're a Haunted Mansion fan. I would also say--and I don't know you, so this is just general advice I would have liked--be aware that the thrill rides are.....more thrilling than here in the states (i.e. Space Mountain is more akin to the Rock N Roller Coaster, for example). Faites un bon voyage et bon voyage!:artist:

It doesn't sound to me like you're looking for a Francilien ticket, you're just wanting a one day ticket, right?
I think the best place to get that is on the official Disneyland Paris website, where you get 15% off compared to on the gate prices.
Alternatively, I've done a great one day visit to DLP from a Paris hotel base - we got a bus/ticket package which got us to the parks for opening time. Means you don't need to worry about getting yourself there on public transport, or about moving to a Disney hotel for just one night. There are lots of companies in Paris who offer this, I think it was about 50 euros each when we did it....that was 5 years ago.
Take a look at the restaurant review thread, but I would say that Walts is the best choice since you will only be having one meal. Amazing food and setting, and I think its unique to Paris?

Thank you for all of the responses. Plans have changed.....we are now staying 2 nights near (1 1/2 miles) Disney and only one night in Paris. It is cheaper that way also. And the hotel near Disney has a shuttle. Can you purchase the Francillean tickets being in the US???? Or do you think I should have my cousin who lives in Germany order them??

How do I go about buying a Francilien Ticket?

As in post 4

Francilien tickets can be bought from the Fnac and you can either print the tickets off at home or pick them up once in Paris

You create an account with them, it's free, and then pay the extra 50cts to print your ticket at home :)

You can purchase them wherever you live and as above you can print them off at home.

Are you going into the park now 2 days as there might be other tickets more suitable for you ?:)

Congratulations! :cool1: It sounds like you will have a very special trip.

We will be visiting DLP for our first time in January 2013. I am like you, an expert WDW planner. However, I feel so overwhelmed planning this trip. I just check in the boards here daily and try to read and learn as much as possible. The DISers here are so helpful and friendly! I know you will learn anything you need to know here.

I hope you have a very magical DLP trip! :wizard:

Can I get more information on the bus to the parks, please? We are staying in Paris for a week. It is DD's special senior trip. It is her dream trip, and we will be touring all over Paris. DLP is Mom's dream trip. So DD has allowed us to spend two days in DLP. Our hotel is booked. It is the Holiday Inn Paris - Notre Dame, 4 rue Danton. If we could get a bus to the parks for our two days, that might be easier than trying to figure out the trains. Also, I wonder if it would be easier getting back to the room at park closing. We will be going in January so the parks will be cold and close earlier than in summer months.

We will be in the parks for two days. What do you recommend for us purchasing our tickets? We had planned to order them off of DLP official web site in October.

I would order them off the DLP site before you leave (one less thing to worry about imho). Unless you anticipate your plans changing, of course, but that would be the easiest I think. :goodvibes

Ok...I think I figured out the Fnac Francilien Ticket....after I found out how to translate out of French. These tickets are for a specific day correct?? I just want to make sure that 1J-2Parcs is what I am looking for. We are going to both parks on 1 day. The second day in Disney we are going to do Downtown Disney and maybe resort hop and head back to Paris to get our train back to Germany. Thank you CarrieCat for all of the information....just making sure I am getting what I need. :yay:

That is what we will do.
Thank you for your help. :goodvibes :thumbsup2
