Thanks for all the advice from everyone here! We just returned home last night from our first trip home to BCV. We had a 2BR from 12/1-12/8. My whole family came, DH, DS-5, DD-7months, DSis, DBIL, DMom, DDad.

We had room 104 a dedicated 2BR, great location for us! Nice short hallway, close to the exit doors from the lobby and the closest doors to the walkway for buses. It was a view of the canal and quiet pool, but since it was 1st floor we could't really see them over all the gardening. Very quiet area and private. We were all impressed with the size of the villa and we didn't feel crowded at all. Having the washer and dryer was really convienent (Even though I hate the idea of doing laundry on vacation! ;) )

The villa was clean but very worn! I was expecting some wear and tear after reading reports here but it was a little worse than I expected. I was disappointed to see some of the damage we found. I totally expect some stains in the carpet, maybe some scuffs on the wall and tables. But, there was a chunk of carpeting missing from the master bedroom floor by the tile. Also, the shower wall in the Master Bathroom, was falling apart! When we first checked in, we noticed there was a large patch from where they tried to fix it before. As the week went on, everyday there was more and more spackling and paint clips on the floor. I would have been really upset if my baby was mobile on her own. She's at that age where everything goes right in the mouth. Fortunately, she can't get too far on her own yet. Except for that, it was all cosmetic things. Definately needs some work but nothing that ruined our vacation or soured us on the BCV

The pack and play was also pretty worn with stains and the mattress pad was torn. Again, not a big deal. We also all went on a scavenger hunt to find it until I remembered readin here that it was in the storage table in the living room! Thanks!

The high chair we requested was in the closet waiting for us. All the lights worked, no problems with AC or water pressure. Found the trash/recycle room with no problem. We requested a computer cable and pillows and had them within 10 minutes. We actually didn't miss daily housecleaning. I was surprised since that was one of the things that I thought I would miss after buying into DVC. We did get T&T on day 4. Were we supposed to get our coffee and sugars replaced during T&T? We didn't and bought some at the store so it was no big deal, I was just curious.

The Disboards Xmas tree was adorable! We put it on top of the TV in the living room with some colored lights my parents bought with them. No place to hang lights outside since we were on first floor. It really made it feel more "homey".

All in all, we had a great time! (Not as good as the people down the hall who left out garbage bags filled with beer cans and had the smell of weed coming out of their room! LOL) Dsis and DBil are now looking into DVC for themselves and we're looking to add on. So it was a big success! We can't wait to go back in October!

Hi,

Thanks for the report. Can't wait to go in about a week!!

I suspect that all the resorts renovate rooms on a "rolling" schedule. I sounds like yours was about ready for a rehab. When we were at BCV in October we may have gotten a room that was redone recently. It was impeccable and fresh. Go figure.

I hope you're right. This room really needed some repair. I can picture how nice it was at one time and it was kind of sad to see it in the condition it was in. On the bright side, everything worked fine and the location was excellent for us. :)

We just returned from BCV today and were under the impression that highchairs were not available. Did I dream that? From whom do you request them -- I'll need to know for next time!!

Great report Stimpy. Nothing like having a first trip go so good that it leads to an add-on.

Yep. Last June our room at BCV was PERFECT, looked freshly touched up. Not a mark anywhere. On the other hand, my parents room needed attention badly. I think they are getting around to it??? (I hope.)

Thanks for the trip report. Not surprised that family would want what we DVC'ers have once they see it :cool1: Sorry your room was in need of rehab though. Did you mention it to the front desk?

It wouldn't hurt to drop the resort a line or an e-mail mentioning that you think this room is pretty shot. They might advance its rehab schedule if you do.

We requested it from MS when I made the ressies and it was waiting for us in the same closet as the vacuum....another thing I really didn't want to see on vacation ;) I would imagine you can also request it from housekeeping when you arrive. The high chair is the same type you get in a restaurant, one of the wooden ones. It's was fine for my DD who sits on her own already, but you can't use it for an infant. I already requested one for our next trip in October too and noticed it's on the confirmation we receive in the mail.

Also, I noticed someone had a full size crib. (Mousekeeping was cleaning a villa and bought it into the hall as we were passing) I didn't think the resorts still had them but I guess they are still available.

We stayed at the BC (not villas) last DEC and requested both bed rails and a crib since I wasn't sure what I was going to use. Or more specifically, what DD would sleep in! Housekeeping delivered a very nice and very clean full size crib with sheets along with the rails in about 15 mins. DD was just under 2 and ended up in one of the queen beds with me, with guard rails, half way through our stay anyway. I kept the crib for afternoon naps though! I don't see why the BCV would be any different. You could request the crib next stay. :D
