Our long awaited 1st trip home to BCV is alomst here! 10/2-10/10
I've been on the DIS planning for this trip for over a year now. Any tips I should know before my first trip home to BCV??? Thanks!:earsgirl:

:wave2: We'll be there during the same time. Just take some time getting to know the resort, relax, and enjoy. Also if you plan on eating at Beaches & Cream, get there well in advance of being hungry. The wait can sometimes be very long.

See you there!!

(1) Go down the Jib slide at least once.
(2) Get some ice cream concoction at Beaches 'n Cream. Although, I personally recommend the Kitchen Sink!

HAVE FUN!
:sunny:

If you get up early, but aren't necessarily needing to get to the parks early, take a leisurely stroll around the Boardwalk. Very relaxing with just the music playing, the sound of the birds out on Crescent Lake, and hardly anyone around you.

You're going to love it! You might want to start a tradition of getting a picture of your group with the Arial statue in front of the villas.

We found the best time for Beaches N Cream was for lunch right when they opened.

Cape May Cafe has a nice breakfast.

I got a mug at the BoardWalk Bakery and since I'm the earliest riser of the group and wanted to get some peace and quiet each morning, would take the mug with me for a walk in the am and get it filled and then walk the rest of the way around the lake.

At night after Illuminations, stroll over to the BW and get ice cream - it's usually less busy than B&C. Then walk the long way around to get home.

Use valet service liberally. Take the splurge.

Go look for the aligator in river by the quiet pool. There are a lot of turtles there too. WHen they see you, they come closer looking for food!

Don't use the valet parking. Just look for a space close to the walkway into the DVC building. Very convenient, very fast.

When returning at night, walk over to the Bakery on the Boardwalk and get a few pastries for breakfast the next morning with in-room coffee. Makes for a quick get-away...

disneychick05,
we will be there the same time 10/02-10/09 also at bcv for the first time. and you are from south jersey? where about, i am also from south jersey (pennsville) right across the delaware bridge. maybe we will see you there. have a great trip.

Thanks for all of the great tips!
Deedle2: We're from West Deptford..about 20 min. from you. I play field hockey at Pennsville High every Sunday in a women's league...small world. My DH will be the one in the Eagles Jersey all week at BCV! Hope to run in to you:wave:

We will be there at the same time too! 10/1 - 10/10. I agree withe DemoBri, take a walk around the boardwalk early in the morning. Also, late in the evening swing on the bench swings on the beach of the Beach Club and look accross at the lights of the boardwalk. (That is when I am not swinging in them)

Plan a cookout by the quiet pool. We had hot dogs and burgers and salad. Later we went to Beaches and Cream for dessert.
We had a large group, and this was really fun.

We are going to the World Oct 17-21 and camping at Fort Wilderness (we have a pop-up)...I already used my 450+ points at the BCV this year. I wish I could add-on more, but I have decided there is never enough. Sandie

I'm also going to be at BCV Oct 2-9! I am so psyched. But first I have to survive this week at work.... :earseek:

All the good suggestions have already been made.

-- There are TWO elevators in the BCV building. We didn't find the second one until the last day of our first stay. And eight stairwells, all of which are useful at times.

-- You DON'T have to go through the BC lobby to get to Epcot. There is a path that goes around BC that is significantly shorter.

-- Self-parking is closer to BCV than valet parking.

-- Take an ice cream scoop.

-- If you have a chocolate attack, make a run to Boardwalk Bakery.

-- But most important of all, check out the oval

While 2 Beach Club maintainence castmembers were working on replacing the safe key in my room, I asked the Manager required to be there with them while they were doing it, what the path to no where outside our window was?

He told me that prior to the Villas being added to the Beach Club, that there was an aerial view Hidden Mickey on the grounds and the Oval was one of the 2 ears that remained after construction.
