First off we should tell you the cast of our wonderful family vacation...We have
The DH.....33 loves to take pics, hates to be in them
DW.....33 (I just LOVE that castle!!)
DS...13 has informed us that this was "The Best"(cool huh)
DD..8 Smiled the whole time(with the exception of Rockin Roller coaster she chickened out big time!)
dd.....5 ....daredevil to say the least....she is still wearing
the Minnie ears...and is "so sad" because she
misses the characters.
We drove from Missouri dues to the fact we wanted to go to the beach...Kennedy Space Center and make some stops in AL and MS. Wonderful drive...TV/VCR combo HIGHLY recommended. Not very many "are we there yet" and no unnecesssary stops. Great little travelers to say the least.
We arrived on Sunday, June 2nd to Fort Wilderness to stay in the cabins we checked in at about 2p or so....very nice CM, color coded our map, nicely answered all of our questions....
And we are off to our cabin....now...for those who wrinkled their noses when we said Fort Wilderness YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU ARE MISSING!!! DH and I held our breath as we pulled thru the gates...around the curves lined with beautiful landscaping...mature trees...and walkways.....we pull into our loop....OH WOW is exactly what I said.....a very private cabin in the trees....no loud neighbors...pvt deck....full kitchen... pvt bedroom....mousekeeping everyday....Absolutely beautiful!!
Ok... back to the story....we quickly unpacked, made our way to the marina...and hopped a boat to the MK....we then boarded a bus to the Boardwalk....(just checkin out the transportation systems) we shopped a little...looked at everything in awe.....we had dinner at ESPN...great food...too much food...we took in a few more shops and decided to ride the monorail....we say the fireworks from the monorail....the kids got to ride in the front..really nice monorail people...once back at FW we beat the electric parade back..so we watched it from our beach....our girls loved it....back to the beautiful (and air conditioned) cabin for bed.
Day 2 at MK---- In the words of my DH "I can sleep at home" We are up and around by 6:30...(yes I said 6:30, btw that's 5:30 our time) We had a wonderful breakfast...left the dishes in the sink and we were on our way to the character caravan...Pluto..Pinnochio.. etc...after that, caught the 1st boat to the MK,( Fast Passes ) are the way to go...I don't think we stood in any line longer than 20min.....maybe 30 for Dumbo...And the FP lines...never more than 5-10 min tops....and I'm counting all four parks!! Again I go astray........We took the wonderful advice of the people on these boards and headed back to the cabin for lunch and a nap....this was..oh...about 1p...tired and SWEATY, a break is just what we needed.
Then we are up and ready to go again....back to MK...rode Space mountain...again..Buzz..again..took the Jungle cruise...did Thunder Mtn....then had a great little dinner at Pecos Bills...those wraps look awesome...then we took our time rode Space Mtn again and made our way to find a place to view the parade...had some Coke slushies....and waited for the parade and Tinkerbelle. I loved the whole castle thing...I was so excited prob more than my girls...(certainly more than the DH)
. Then we made our way "home". 15min...we are there....10 min more we are at the pool....that's potty breaks, quick chages and a very short walk!... At midnight...we are thankful to be going to bed....because the next morning we will be up early again and as my DH says "we will sleep when we're dead".....(sigh)...
